Reba McEntire Returns To The Road With 2020 Tour

Her signature charisma has lit up stages and screens across generations, and now, Reba McEntire is back with a headline run of arena dates in 2020. She will bring rising singer/songwriter Caylee Hammack along across a dozen cities kicking off March 20 and culminating May 9.

CMT Announces The Next Women of Country + Reveals 2020 Tour

CMT has announced the 2020 Class of its Next Women of Country franchise at last week’s 7th annual event at the CMA Theater at the Country Music Hall of Fame. The 11 artists joining the prestigious Next Women roster are: Abbey Cone, Avenue Beat, Caylee Hammack, Gabby Barrett, Hailey Whitters, Kylie Morgan, Madison Kozak, Renee Blair, Sycamore, Tiera and Walker County. The announcement was made by event co-hosts Leslie Fram, SVP, Music Strategy & Talent, CMT, and country music superstar Martina McBride. 

At the event, each newly-named act performed one song onstage in an acoustic, writer’s round format. This 2020 Class marks a total of 75 female acts that have been named as part of the program since its inception in 2013.  

Brandi Carlile accepted the 2019 CMT Next Women of Country “Impact Award,” an honor presented to a female artist that has impacted songwriting, recording, radio airplay, record sales, streams, media impressions, awards and touring in country music over the past year. The award was presented by singer-songwriter Brandy Clark (Class of 2016) and Change the Conversation co-founder Tracy Gershon.

In a surprise appearance, the legendary Tanya Tucker appeared onstage as Carlile announced that Tucker will headline the upcoming CMT Next Women of Country Tour in early 2020. Supporting acts and cities to be announced. The 2020 tour is sponsored for the second consecutive year by Burlington Coat Factory. 

Singer-songwriter Mickey Guyton kicked off the event with a special performance of her new single, “Sister,” performing with fellow Next Women of Country alumnae with fellow female artists Clare Dunn (2014), Leah Turner (2018), Rachel Wammack (2018) & Tenille Townes (2018).

A staunch advocate for country music’s female artists, CMT launched its “Next Women of Country” campaign in an effort to support and expose developing female talent, both signed and unsigned, in a male-dominated format. The campaign showcases emerging female artists across all CMT screens throughout the year, and in six years since its launch, CMT has expanded the initiative to include five CMT NEXT WOMEN OF COUNTRY Tours, anchored by superstar acts including Jennifer Nettles, Martina McBride and Sara Evans; a CMT.com digital series titled NEXT WOMEN OF COUNTRY LIVE; and more. Notable alumnae of the franchise who have achieved both commercial and critical acclaim include Kacey Musgraves, Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, Lauren Alaina, RaeLynn and Lindsay Ell.

Nominees Revealed For 2020 CRS New Faces of Country Music® Show

Country Radio Broadcasters (CRB) has released the slate of artists for this year’s CRS New Faces of Country Music® Show voting. The nominees for 2020 are Ingrid Andress (Atlantic/WMN), Morgan Evans (Warner/WEA), Riley Green (BMLGR), HARDY (TVM/Big Loud), Ryan Hurd (RCA), Tyler Rich (Valory), Runaway June (Wheelhouse), Matt Stell (Wide Open/Records/GCE/Arista), and Mitchell Tenpenny (Columbia Nashville).

The New Faces of Country Music® Show is one of the most anticipated events at Country Radio Seminar. Five emerging artists who have achieved significant success at Country Radio during the qualification period are selected each year to perform.

The New Faces of Country Music® Show has played a pivotal role in the careers of almost every major Country star. The annual showcase was formed in 1970, making CRS 2020’s New Faces event the 50th Anniversary show.

Dierks Bentley Reveals 5th Whiskey Row Location

Current three-time CMA nominee Dierks Bentley alongside Riot Hospitality (RHG) reveal plans for a Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row in Denver, CO marking the fifth location nationwide. With construction set to begin in January 2020, the new location will takeover the downtown area’s historic 1942-1946 Market St. as design improvements will be made to preserve and enhance the significance of the buildings. The two-story infill structure will include an extended patio and rooftop addition with a grand opening to be revealed at a later date.

“Every Whiskey Row is located in a city and state that is very special to me. Our first one opened in my hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona six years ago and our most recent location is in my adopted hometown of Nashville, TN,” said Bentley. “I couldn’t be more excited about Whiskey Row now having a home in Denver as well. Colorado has always been a big part of my life and continues to be so as a place where I write and record music, spend time with family and put on our Seven Peaks Festival. Selfishly, opening a Whiskey Row there just gives me more excuses to head to the mountains!”

Each Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row is a live-music restaurant and bar serving familiar “American Gastropub Fare type cuisine with a modern twist.” With three existing locations in Arizona and one on Nashville’s historic Lower Broadway, Whiskey Rows combine interactive entertainment, signature dishes and memorable beverages. 

Bentley and Ryan Hibbert, CEO and Managing Partner of Riot Hospitality Group joint ventured on the project with MCSV Holdings I, LLC, and Denver-based Circle West Architects on the design.
