Reba Releases Deeply Personal Music Video “Just Like Them Horses”

Reba just released a powerful and personal new video entitled, “Just Like Them Horses.” In conjunction with the release of the deeply personal video, the country music icon also shared her story that relates directly to this song. The black and white video delivers all the emotions and all the feels throughout, and will connect with several on so many levels.

“Liz Hengber sent me a CD of “Just Like Them Horses” while I was listening to songs for my Love Somebody album. The minute I heard it, I knew I wanted it played at Daddy’s funeral. When my producer Tony Brown heard it, he loved it so much, that he insisted on putting it on the album. It made both – the album and Daddy’s funeral, October 2014.

I got the idea for the video one day and knew it was going to be the most meaningful heartfelt video I’d ever do. We shot the entire video in Chockie, OK on the McEntire homeplace. Those old hills mean a lot to me. I lived there 21 years and they still call me back time after time.

This is a song about goodbye, closure and letting go. Mama had to be in the video. She was and still is the glue to our family. Without a doubt, the ranch wouldn’t be what it is today without her. She was the partner, bookkeeper, #1 hired hand, cook, my best friend and as I said, the glue. So many times things could have gone south but she held us all together.

I dedicate this video to Daddy. His life was horses, cattle, land, rodeo and business. Daddy did a lot of traveling in his life. When he wasn’t rodeoing or buying cattle, he was working hard on the ranch. I took him to Europe and Australia. On one of those trips he said, “If I ever get home, I’m not gonna go past the mail box.”

My favorite line of the song is, “Just like them horses, now it’s time to run.” He did. He ran all the way to heaven. Just like them horses.”

Frankie Ballard to Headline New Chicago Concert Venue

The partners behind Bub CityJoe’s on Weed Street and the Windy City Smokeout, a BBQ and country music festival, are bringing two new ventures that will occupy 35,000 square feet at 5441 Park Place in the MB Financial Park.

“After we got over our initial fears of taking over such a large space, we realized that we could have the ability to not only book 1,500 person shows and events, but also bring the great food and fun spirit of Bub City to Rosemont,” says Lettuce Entertain You managing partner, Jerrod Melman.

Joe’s Bar, long known as a place to see future stars like Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley, occupies two-thirds of the space with a stage that will play host to weekly lineups of country music’s biggest names, up-and-comers, local talent, DJs, and more.

“It was only a matter of time until we combined the two brands,” says Joe’s Live partner Ed Warm. “We’ve brought together our vision of creating a concert room that music fans will love combined with the best food and hospitality that Lettuce Entertain You is known for; it’s going to be really special.”

Attached to Joe’s Live is Bub City, open daily for dinner from 4:30 p.m. until late, that will spotlight a barbecue menu with its famous Southern-style brunch and DIY Bloody Mary bar on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Weekday lunch service will follow featuring the “Meat & Three” lunch special. The menu is crafted by chef / partner Doug Psaltis, with highlights including the original Giddy Up Fries and housesmoked meats like 18-Hour Natural Beef Brisket and BBQ Pork Ribs. Other signatures include Bub’s General Joe’s Fried Chicken and All-American Double Barrel Burgers.

“We’re excited to introduce Bub City to Rosemont and look forward to all the possible parties we can throw,” says Chef Psaltis. “We envision everything – from a family-style crab boil for hundreds to an amazing Black Tie Levi party and tailored plated dinners for weddings and special occasions.”

Both Joe’s Live and Bub City will offer event and party options for groups ranging from eight to 1,500 guests. From corporate dinners and bachelorette parties to VIP experiences in one of the private rooms that overlook the Joe’s stage, the space offers a wide variety of entertainment for groups. In addition to in-restaurant event capabilities, Bub City also provides off-site catering and rents out “The Rig,” a mobile barbecue trailer that brings the barbecue experience right to guests’ doors.

Bub City and Joe’s Live will celebrate with an opening event Thursday, February 25, with a live performance from country music star Frankie Ballard whose hits “Young & Crazy” and “Sunshine & Whiskey” have topped the charts.

Festivities will continue all week, with shows from:

Dierks Bentley Announces New Single and 2016 Tour

After announcing his eighth studio album BLACK, set for release in early 2016, Dierks Bentley ignites country radio today with the album’s lead single “Somewhere On A Beach.” The multi-PLATINUM entertainer also announced today that the US leg of his 2016 SOMEWHERE ON A BEACH TOUR will begin on May 12 in Holmdel, NJ at the PNC Bank Arts Center with Randy Houser and special guest Cam. Fans can purchase tickets beginning Jan. 29 for select cities as part of Live Nation’s Country Megaticket at www.Megaticket.com.

“This album is about ALL phases of a relationship, including the breakups,” said Bentley. “Beach’ is a pretty blunt take on that wild rebound we’ve all had or maybe imagined having. The carefree attitude is exactly the spirit we wanted to bring out on the road this year. I’ve toured with Randy before, and he’s just a great dude – on stage and backstage. And I’ve gotten to know Cam a little over the last year, and she’s fun as hell too and so talented. It’s going to be a big summer for sure.”

While BLACK sets a new artistic course, it’s “Somewhere On A Beach” that first breaches the candid message of the highs and lows romantic relationships face. Fans can tune-in to begin the journey today (1/19) with Bentley’s first performance of the song on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (check local listings).

Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild Couldn’t Say No To Luke Bryan

Luke Bryan asked Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild to sing on his latest smash hit, “Home Alone Tonight,” and she immediately said yes to the offer.

“Any chance to sing with Luke Bryan, I mean, who’s gonna say no to that,” Karen asks. “He’s so freaking adorable and fun. It’s such a great song, and I was just honored that he thought of me and I love the way our voices sound together. It’s kind of a sexy slow jam.”

The two will most likely perform the duet when they hit the road on Luke’s Kill the Lights Tour, which will launch in Evansville, Indiana February 16th, and Karen is looking forward to the opportunity. “I can’t wait to sing it out in front of his crowd. That’s going to be amazing.” Dustin Lynch is also on the bill.

“Home Alone Tonight,” which is currently sitting inside the Top 10 on the country charts, is from Luke’s latest album, Kill the Lights.

Little Big Town is climbing the country charts with their latest single, “Pain Killer.”

Thomas Rhett Hits 5 Week Record With “Die A Happy Man”

Multi-Platinum singer/songwriter Thomas Rhett commands the radio charts once again this week, spending a fifth consecutive week at No. One on the Billboard Country Airplay chart with his PLATINUM certified hit “Die A Happy Man.” Most recently accomplished in 2009, it was Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now” that last maintained the long-standing hold.

The expressive track also claims a fourth week at the top of the Mediabase radio chart, six weeks at No. One on the Mediabase Canada Country chart and continues to be the best-selling country digital track for an 11th week. Thomas Rhett is also making waves overseas as his PLATINUM certified No. One “Crash And Burn” off his sophomore release TANGLED UP (Valory Music Co.) makes its way onto the BBC A-List in advance of his C2C MainStage performance in March.

The singer/songwriter continued the momentum this weekend after opening weekend as direct support for Jason Aldean’s WE WERE HERE 2016 TOUR, standing out during sold-out shows as he displayed “how to please a full house” (City County Observer). Additionally, the singer/songwriter will hold his first boot camp with Snap Fitness on the road this Saturday in Springfield, MO (1/23).
