Carrie Underwood Releases “Drinking Alone” Music Video

Carrie Underwood has unveiled the music video for her latest single, “Drinking Alone.” Directed by Randee St. Nicholas, the video delivers a sultry vibe set in an underground nightclub where two strangers identify with their common ground of suffering from a breakup, but in the end do not go home together.

“I feel like the title could have gone to a very like sad emotional place, but me being me, I still wanted to have that strong kind of character in there. So, I love the fact that this is a breakup song,” says Carrie. “‘I’m here at the bar drinking my pain away. You and me can hang out. Why should we both be lamenting over lost love separately? We’re both here doing the same thing. Let’s just do that together.’”

“I love that the character, I was like I don’t want her like going home with him. I don’t want any of that.” Underwood continues. “I just want it to be like, ‘Okay we’ll just hang out. We’ll drink. We’ll maybe share a corner booth kiss.’ But it’s just more about that night and that moment and that Band-Aid and then going your separate ways. ‘Like this isn’t a thing. I’m not looking to start a new relationship. I’m out of this one. Let’s just let whatever this is be what this is right now.’”

“Drinking Alone,” co-written by Underwood, David Garcia and Brett James, is serving as a solid follow up to Carrier’s recent No. 1 hit single, “Southbound.” Both “Drinking Alone” and “Southbound” can be found on Carrie Underwood’s latest album, CRY PRETTY, available now by clicking here.

Scotty McCreery Shares Acoustic Version of Latest Single “In Between”

Just in time to kick off the holidays, Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery offers his fans a surprise gift with the release of “In Between (Acoustic).” The music video for the acoustic track, directed by Jeff Ray, debuted exclusively on iHeartCountry station sites and iHeart.com. The audio track for “In Between (Acoustic),” produced by McCreery’s bass player Nathan Thomas, is available now. Listen HERE.

The song and video are the first of three acoustic tracks coming from the country crooner as a new digital EP entitled The Soundcheck Sessions. McCreery will also release an acoustic track in December and January to complete the EP, with iHeartCountry properties continuing to debut the accompanying music videos.

“While I always love performing ‘In Between’ with my full band, I also really have fun when we do a stripped-down version at guitar pulls and radio shows,” said McCreery. “We’ve had so many requests for a recorded version of the acoustic performance, so we decided to make it happen. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.”

The original version of “In Between” is climbing the country charts, currently positioned at No. 30 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart and No. 32 on the Mediabase / Country Aircheck Country Singles Chart. The song, written by McCreery, Frank Rogers, Jessi Alexander and Jonathan Singleton and produced by Rogers, is the third single from the North Carolina native’s No. 1 debuting Seasons Change album which also features his two Platinum-certified No. 1 hits “Five More Minutes” and “This is It.”

“In Between (Acoustic),” as well as the two forthcoming acoustic tracks, were filmed and recorded on the stage of the Cascade Theatre in Redding, California on Sept. 26, during the afternoon before the singer and his band performed a concert there that night. McCreery is accompanied by his guitarists/harmony vocalists Jeffrey Harper and Dylan Rosson on the acoustic tracks.

Austin, Texas-based videographer Ray also directed all of McCreery’s prior videos from Seasons Change including “Five More Minutes,” which is nearing 100 million views; “This is It,” which has surpassed 55 million views; and the original version of “In Between” which was released earlier this year.

Old Dominion Takes Fans “Behind The Curtain” With Apple Music

Fresh off their win for ‘Vocal Group of the Year’ at the 2019 CMA Awards, country band Old Dominion takes fans “behind the curtain” of their songwriting and recording process in a new exclusive short film available exclusively on Apple Music.

Said Matthew Ramsey, songwriter and lead singer of Old Dominion, “With songwriting we made the decision to write what we thought was cool and what we were enjoying instead of chasing something.”

“Once you find a great song, it’ll find its home,” added Trevor Rosen, songwriter and instrumentalist for the group, discussing how the band approaches its songwriting-whether they’re writing for other artists or for their own band to record. “But first and foremost, you just gotta try to write a great song.”

In ‘Old Dominion: Band Behind The Curtain’, the band recalls the stories behind some of the biggest hits they’ve written for other artists-including “Say You Do” by Dierks Bentley, “Save It for a Rainy Day” by Kenny Chesney, and “Make You Miss Me” by Sam Hunt. Then, hunkered down in Nashville’s Blackbird Studio A with superstar producer Shane McAnally, they rehearse their own versions of the three songs.
