Kenny Chesney Postpones Several Spring Dates of His 2020 Chillaxification Tour

These are uncertain times, and Kenny Chesney feels the unrest. With his band and crews deep in rehearsals for the 2020 Chillaxification Tour, he found himself looking at people who’ve been part of his road family for decades – and he knew he had to do something. It wasn’t an easy decision, but when you’re invested in the musicians, the techs, the drivers and especially the fans, it comes down to one thing.

“You can’t take risks without really understanding the consequences,” explains the man hailed as “The King of the Road” by the Wall Street Journal. “In times of uncertainty, I won’t take chances with those I love. I can’t imagine, as much as we love being out there playing for the fans, being able to do that through the worry our nation is experiencing.

“So, while we wait to see how this terrible virus is going to impact our country, I think it’s only fair to move these first several dates now. We are figuring some of this out as we go, but I know people buy airline tickets, book hotel rooms – and I wanted to try to give everyone as much time to sort that out as possible.”

Currently, seven stadiums and four amphitheater shows have been postponed. Starting with the Blue Chair Bay Rum Presents Kenny Chesney’s 2020 Chillaxification Tour Fueled by Marathon kick off Saturday, April 18 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the postponements run through May 28 at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Representatives for Messina Touring are working in the hopes of finding alternate dates later in the touring season. Hopefully within six weeks, all the moving pieces will be resolved; new dates should be in place. Those unable to attend will be refunded.

“This is all uncharted,” acknowledges Chesney. “I’m like everyone else: watching the news, wondering when we may know something concrete, not sure how this gets transmitted, worried someone I know will catch it. I want to believe this will all be okay in the end; but right now, I don’t feel like this risk to No Shoes Nation is worth it.

“Nobody wants to get out there for these shows more than I do. We’ve started rehearsals; everything is loaded in – and the band sounds great. Music is medicine when your soul or your heart need healing, but I don’t want my music to put anyone at risk. So, I promise: we are going to work as quickly as we can to sort out what we can and can’t do in terms of these dates. We’re going to cross our fingers this pandemic will resolve as some of the experts have suggested, and we hope to kick off the tour May 30th at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, a venue we’ve played since 2005. But mostly, I hope this virus is contained, and the suffering and deaths are kept to the fewest possible people.”

The 2020 Chillaxification Tour continues the enduring rite of summer Chesney’s stadium shows have become. With “Here & Now” capturing the reality of living in the now, celebrating the moment and the notion don’t postpone your life, Chesney realizes how precious every experience is. No one is more committed to making memories, capturing life in song and celebrating the awesomeness of being right where you are more than the 8-time ACM and CMA Entertainer of the Year.

Dan + Shay Postpone Spring Leg of The (Arena) Tour, Announce Rescheduled Dates

Due to the unprecedented circumstances surrounding the coronavirus, the spring leg of Dan + Shay The (Arena) Tour has been postponed. The tour has been rescheduled, and previously purchased tickets will be honored for all dates as outlined below. Check venue websites for updates and further information.

From Dan + Shay:
Well, here we are. March 12, 2020, sitting in a bus parked outside Wells Fargo Center, making a statement we never thought we’d have to make. After the mandatory postponement of our Philadelphia show, and several others in the coming weeks, we have made the collective decision (with our team and health officials) to postpone the spring leg of THE (ARENA) TOUR. These shows mean the world to us, and it was important that they be postponed and not canceled, but more than the shows, our fans mean the world to us, and protecting their safety is the number one priority. We want the shows to be memorable, and not experienced with fear.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding. It is a strange, strange time for all of us, but we felt this was the right thing to do. Previously purchased tickets will be honored at all rescheduled dates. We hope everyone can make it. Keep an eye on venue websites for further information and updates. Stay safe out there.

So much love,
Dan + Shay

In an official statement from the festival, the following information was released:

At the direction of the County of Riverside and local health authorities, we must sadly confirm the rescheduling of Coachella and Stagecoach due to COVID-19 concerns. We urge everyone to follow the guidelines and protocols put forth by public health officials.

Coachella will now take place on October 9, 10 and 11 and October 16, 17 and 18, 2020. Stagecoach will take place on October 23, 24 and 25, 2020. With 11 million albums sold, Trace Adkins knows a thing or two about making a good record. And after working with some of the biggest names in the business, Mickey Jack Cones, President and COO of Verge Records, knows how to get them heard. It’s a perfect partnership.

Adkins’ first release on his new label home Verge Records, “Better Off,” written by Hillary Lindsey, Corey Crowder and Liz Rose, will be available on all platforms March 20.

“Trace is a country music icon. We are beyond elated to be teaming up with him on this next chapter of his career. I’ve had the privilege of working on all but two of Trace’s records since 2005, so I don’t take this partnership lightly. We have something to prove, and we’re going to prove it!” Cones says fervently.

A Grand Ole Opry member who has earned numerous GRAMMY nominations and taken home multiple CMT and ACM awards, Adkins says he still craves the rush of recording albums and performing live for fans.

“I am excited about my merge with Verge. My desire to create and release new music is as strong now as when I first started,” Adkins declares. “Mickey Jack and I have collaborated on several projects, and I look forward to several more.”

In a similarly harmonious pairing, Verge Records has an exclusive partnership with distribution and label services company ONErpm to utilize its global presence to leverage opportunities for the Verge roster, including a radio trigger for tracks that reach set streaming and video metrics.

Ken Madson, Nashville GM of ONErpm, is equally enthusiastic about the project. “Trace has an undeniably distinctive voice and career. We are proud to be working with him and are thrilled to join his fantastic team.”

Adkins’ new tour, The Way I Wanna Go Tour 2020kicks off April 15 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. For more show dates, tickets and announcements, visit TraceAdkins.com.
