Chris Young Releases Emotionally Charged New Track “Drowning”

Following an emotionally-charged performance of Drowning during his Opry appearance last week, Chris Young has released the intimate track to all digital and streaming services today. The grief-soaked song was penned in tribute to Adam, a close friend of Chris’s who passed away several years ago.

“When I wrote this song with Corey Crowder and Josh Hoge, we each thought of someone that we lost way too soon. For me, it was one of my best friends, Adam. Missing you comes in waves and tonight I’m drowning. This one is for you, brother,” shared Chris last night on social media.

Written by Young with Corey Crowder and Josh Hoge, the raw lyrics and vulnerable vocals expose the realities of loss and grief.

So tonight I’m gonna pull out pictures, ones with you in ’em
Laugh and cry a little while reminiscing
By myself, I can’t help that all I think about is
How you were taken way too soon
It ain’t the same here without you
I gotta say, missing you comes in waves
And tonight I’m drowning

“Drowning” is available now at http://smarturl.it/CYDrowning and will be included on his upcoming album, Raised On Country, releasing later this year.

Riley Green Releases “Get That Man A Beer” 4-Song EP

With a full album forthcoming later this year, Riley Green today releases GET THAT MAN A BEER EP on BMLG Records. The title track rounds out the second collection of songs produced by Dann Huff with executive producer Jimmy Harnen and features his current single “In Love By Now,” “Bettin’ Man” and “Numbers On The Cars.” Listen to the full EP here.

“I am excited we get to kick off the summer tour with another new song for my fans, who keep me making music,” explains Green. “This is just another preview for them before my full debut album later this year.”

With a passion for being on the road and connecting with audiences directly, Green has consistently put out new music. “For the past four years, Green has played roughly a hundred shows each year, and he’s found that, even in cities like Chicago, fans sing along to his portraits of small-town life as if he were singing about their own hometowns,” praises Billboard. “Green describes his success as ‘accidental,’ which is perhaps his humble Southern way of saying he simply put in the work the old-fashioned way. No gimmicks, no viral moments, no co-signs from a more established artist, just playing shows — a lot of them.”

GET THAT MAN A BEER Track List:
1. In Love By Now (Riley Green, Rhett Akins, Marv Green, Ben Hayslip)
2. Bettin’ Man (Riley Green, Erik Dylan, Jonathan Singleton)
3. Numbers On The Cars (Riley Green)
4. Get That Man A Beer (Riley Green, Jonathan Singleton, Channing Wilson)

Penning each track on the project, Green shared a writing session with Jonathan Singleton and Channing Wilson for the title track“Get That Man A Beer” tells the story about the one that got away, with a twist realization – the new love might have done the old a favor. With his usual Southern charm and relatability, Green sings:
If you find a dive down in Cartersville Georgia
And there’s a dude with bulldogs tattoo in the corner of the bar
With a scar on his left eye
That’s from a mean right hook of mine
He got my girl and a few good licks in
It broke my heart, but that was back then
And I figured out later, that he might have did me a favor
So if you ever get that chance
Won’t you get that man a beer

Already named one of Rolling Stone Country’s “Artists You Need to Know,” a CMT Listen Up Artist and one of MusicRow’s Next Big Things, Taste of Country declares he “is clearly an artist on the cusp of stardom.” A No. 1 with debut single “There Was This Girl” fueling momentum, he is currently on the road this summer on Brad Paisley’s 2019 WORLD TOUR before heading out on Jon Pardi’s HEARTACHE MEDICATION TOUR in the fall. Green will also continue his own headline shows. For a full list of tour dates and more, visit RileyGreenMusic.com.

Thomas Rhett Makes Strong Debut With Fourth Studio Album ‘Center Point Road’

As critics laud “few singers have played a larger role in defining the sound of country music over the past half-dozen years than Thomas Rhett” (Rolling Stone), the reigning ACM Awards Male Artist of the Year has earned his second consecutive No. One on Billboard 200 Albums Chart in less than two years with CENTER POINT ROAD (The Valory Music Co). It also makes history today with over 33 million on-demand audio streams for its songs, claiming the biggest streaming debut week ever for a country album.

“The reception for this new music has been mind-blowing from the start,” said Thomas Rhett. “In these last two years of life, a lot has happened that gave me a lot to write about. When I didn’t think I could get more personal, I did. And I attribute so much of that to the songwriters that really went with me into deeper territory and to the producers that had a great vision for the sound of this album. I just feel super honored and super blessed that we got to make this record with such an incredible team. Huge shout out to the fans for listening to it and supporting every release along the way. It has been such a whirlwind, for the album to finally be out and to see this kind of response is just mind-blowing.”

In celebration of the new album, Thomas Rhett brought CENTER POINT ROAD to Bridgestone Arena this past weekend (6/8) where more than 7,000 fans were treated to an up-close-and-personal set in the round from the singer/songwriter revealing stories behind the new music, while also delivering the smash hits and fan-favorites that shaped him into the artist he is today. Featuring special surprise guests Jon Pardi and Rhett Akins, the sold-out special event was rounded out with a $100,000 donation to music education through the CMA Foundation.

Kelsea Ballerini Notches Fifth No. 1 Single with “Miss Me More”

Black River Entertainment recording artist Kelsea Ballerini rules the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart this week with her fifth career No. 1, “Miss Me More.” Notching the first chart-topping single for a female artist in Country music in 15 months, Ballerini was also the last woman in the genre to hit No. 1 with “Legends” in February 2018.

“Whether it’s a partner, friend, colleague, situation, or chapter of life, sometimes we lose a piece of ourselves to someone,” shares Ballerini. “This song is all about choosing to spend our energy in a way that lets us be the best version of ourselves for the right people – when they come along. I’m so proud that this song and message got the megaphone of Country radio. Thank you so much for this No. 1!”

Additionally, Ballerini is the only female artist in Country music, including female duos and groups, to achieve No. 1 with her first three consecutive singles – PLATINUM-certified “Love Me Like You Mean It,” “Dibs,” “Peter Pan” – from a debut album [GOLD-certified THE FIRST TIME].

Black River’s SVP of Radio Promotion Mike Wilson finds this No. 1 song especially sweet, “Special thanks to Country Radio for all of the support on Kelsea. You have been big supporters of this song since you first heard it, and now, this is the icing on the cake.”

As seen on Billboard’s This Week’s 5 Must-Hear Songs and with more than 1.5 billion career global streams, “Miss Me More” is Ballerini’s eighth career GOLD-certified single.  Penning the bold anthem with David Hodges and Brett McLaughlin, the smash hit recently inspired her widely-successful first headline arena tour – THE MISS ME MORE TOUR – with Brett Young (plus special guest Brandon Ratcliff).

Fresh off hosting her third consecutive year of ABC’s CMA Fest with Thomas Rhett, the three-hour primetime concert airs at 8/7c p.m. on August 4 from Nissan Stadium in Nashville, TN. Ballerini is next slated to appear as a celebrity guest artist in an upcoming episode of Songland, NBC’s brand-new songwriting competition, airing Tuesdays at 10/9c p.m.
