Brett Eldredge Scores Last Country Radio No.1 Single of 2016 with “Wanna Be That Song”

Brett Eldredge notches the last country radio No. 1 of the year with his sixth consecutive chart-topping single “Wanna Be That Song.” Boasting over 40 million streams, “Wanna Be That Song” follows smash hits “Lose My Mind” and “Drunk On Your Love” from his album Illinois.

“Getting to be ‘that song’ for my fans just makes this so much sweeter, better than any number one I’ve ever had,” said Eldredge. “This is the song I’ve wanted to release for a long time so thank you to my team, my fans, country radio – and Merry Christmas!”

The Platinum-selling recording artist is also making waves with his recently released Christmas album Glow. The album has earned widespread praise from outlets including The New York Times, People, Entertainment Weekly, who named it one of the hottest Christmas albums of 2016, and The Tennessean. His duet of “Baby It’s Cold Outside” with 2016 GRAMMY winner for Best New Artist Meghan Trainor tops the Holiday Music Chart for its third week and sits at No. 2 on Adult Contemporary.

Eldredge will continue to celebrate Glow Friday, December 23 on NBC’S TODAY, where he will join the crew in Nashville to talk about his family’s holiday traditions and share his mother’s cookie recipe. He has appeared throughout the season on Good Morning America, LIVE with Kelly, Ellen and the CMA Country Christmas special, which will re-air on Saturday, December 24 at 9:00 p.m. ET / 8:00 p.m. CT on ABC.

Brantley Gilbert Shares Details About Forthcoming Album “The Devil Don’t Sleep”

For Brantley Gilbert, his back-to-back platinum success comes from writing about his life – and watching the people who live like he does respond. If HALFWAY TO HEAVEN was the story of a young man in the clutches of all it means to be wild, and JUST AS I AM considered the consequences of the life and the good times getting there, THE DEVIL DON’T SLEEP marks the next phase of the working class Country icon in the making’s life.

Sixteen songs on the regular disc. Ten more on the Deluxe edition. It’s a whole lot of music from Country music’s hardest hitting songwriter/artist. It’s also a lot of life lived.

“A lot has happened,” marvels the man nominated for CMA Song of the Year for Jason Aldean’s signature “Dirt Road Anthem.” “And anyone who knows me knows that every album is another chapter of my life. Even though it’s my life, even though some of what I write about is very specific to what happens to me, I think the challenges, the places where we figure things out are all the same – no matter what we’re facing, realizations all mean the same things.”

Though “The Weekend” explodes as one of Gilbert’s industrial strength five o’clock Friday party anthems, THE DEVIL DON’T SLEEP works a celebratory tip for other reasons. As Gilbert is quick to point out, the songs offer a cautionary undertow because, as the title suggests, temptation is a nonstop reality – and people need vigilance to avoid backsliding into the very things that defeat them.

“By now, everyone knows the story turned out okay for me,” laughs the man who sold out his entire BLACKOUT arena tour last winter, as well as his TAKE IT OUTSIDE amphitheater tour which closed with two nights at Red Rocks. “But the truth is there’s always temptation, there’s always something – whether it’s work or substances or gambling or whatever – that can pull you off the path. For me, thankfully, I got through it, got the girl back, got to keep my career moving…”

As a tortured soul trying to walk the straight and narrow but always feeling the pull of the devil’s right hand, THE DEVIL DON’T SLEEP is supplemented with a Deluxe version that captures the roots of his songwriting and the essence of his blistering live shows. The expanded package represents a fuller look into the hard-hitting songwriter’s journey to where he is now: one of four Country artists to mine back-to-back platinum albums for sticking to his unapologetically rock-country hybrid on Halfway To Heaven and Just As I Am, six #1s including Aldean’s “Dirt Road Anthem” and “My Kind of Party” and his own “Country Music Be Country Wide,” “Bottoms Up,” “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do” and the deeply personal “One Hell Of An Amen,” two consecutive sold-out headlining tours and the love of the girl he lost along the way and the 2014 American Music Award for Favorite Country Album.

Tapping into the outlier, the roughneck, the downhome and the downtrodden, the songwriter/rocker from Jefferson, Georgia tears music from actual life, Gilbert knows vigilance is required even in the best of times. Gilbert admits, “Trying to get the whole story on the album was a little more than we’d bargained for. We tried every which way, but in the end, it seemed like we needed to do the straight-up record. But then for the folks who really go deep, I wanted to give them a piece of the last year on the road. We recorded live at Red Rocks at the end of the tour, and you can feel how hard they rocked. And I wanted that on this record…”

And he’s also heard the fans, who keep asking for older songs that have never been available on record. Amongst the previously unreleased tracks to be included on THE DEVIL DON’T SLEEP DELUXE are “You Promised,” with over 24 million YouTube views and “I’ve Been There Before.”

“Life isn’t just chapters,” explains the songwriter/rocker. “What happens before influences what happens next. Not always the way you’d expect. Sometimes you don’t even see it ‘til later. But with these CDs, I feel like it’s the story and then more of the story. You know, depending on how deep you want to go, it’s a way to understand the journey to THE DEVIL DON’T SLEEP.”

THE DEVIL DON’T SLEEP arrives Jan. 27.

Frankie Ballard Performed Two Sold-Out Holiday Shows Benefiting The “FTL Sarcoma Fund”

This past weekend singer/songwriter Frankie Ballard played his annual Christmas shows at the State Theater in Kalamazoo, MI. For the last eight years Ballard has performed one sold out night for fans with all proceeds going to benefit the charities of his choice and this year for the first time he performed two sold-out nights. Frankie teamed up with TJ Martell for the fundraisers and the proceeds of more than $40,000 will be going to the FTL Sarcoma Fund (“For The Linds”).

The first night featured a special visit from the undefeated (and 2017 Cotton Bowl-bound) Western Michigan University football team head coach PJ Fleck (pictured above). He attended the show and signed Row The Boat (the team motto) oars and custom Kalamazoo-made Heritage guitars for the silent auction. Frankie Ballard attended WMU and played baseball for the Broncos as well.

FTL (“For The Linds”) was set up for Lindsay Walleman who was a member of the promo team at Warner Nashville. Lindsay worked tirelessly on Frankie’s music and for a number of other artists including Jana Kramer, Big & Rich, Brett Eldredge, and many more. In 2013 she lost her less than three-month battle with sarcoma at the age of 28.

Frankie talks about Lindsay in a recent interview with CMT, “She was just a magnetic person. She would walk into a room and smile, and everybody would want to talk to her. I’ve never had people like that. I didn’t know that’s what having a record deal meant either. So she was very special to me, and this was such a violent thing that happened to her. She’s diagnosed and a few months later, she’s gone.”

Ballard continues to talk about his passion for the organization, “this was the first year we’re going to try to do two shows instead of one show. And so it was a big thing, and I thought now is the time when I can potentially write a worthwhile check to something I really care about, which is definitely Lindsay.”

Reba McEntire Releasing Inspirational Album, Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope, February 3

Reba McEntire has never been one to “rest on her laurels” (Associated Press) and continues to prove that her strong work ethic couples well with passion as she prepares to release SING IT NOW: SONGS OF FAITH & HOPE on February 3, 2017 jointly through Nash Icon Records and Capitol Christian Music Group.

For an entertainer with an illustrious career that has elicited 35 No. 1 singles, over 56 million albums sold worldwide, prestigious industry awards, lead acting roles and brand endeavors, new is a rarity – yet an art form she has perfected.

From the set of her forthcoming music video for “Back To God,” Reba revealed details about her influences, upbringing and lifelong help from her guardian angels that lead to this collection. The double-disc project highlights traditional hymns of “faith” throughout the first 10 songs while more contemporary tracks of “hope” round out the back half.

SING IT NOW was the perfect title for this album because the message and melody throughout the song connects the dots between the traditional hymns I grew up on and new music that has been uplifting for me in challenging times,” said Reba.

Reba let her heart and friends help guide the song selection, which includes the first tune she ever sang in public, “Jesus Loves Me,” a former Reba co-star’s suggestion of “Oh Happy Day” and an introduction from a close associate to “From The Inside Out.” Collaborating with Kelly Clarkson and Trisha Yearwood, “Softly and Tenderly” is available now via smarturl.it/RebaSingItNow through the pre-order, giving fans a sense of the spirit with a new track each week leading up to the release.

Special packages with autographed merchandise (CD, vinyl and framed print) as well as t-shirt and leather journal bundles are up now at Reba.com. Reba co-produced the album with Jay DeMarcus* of Rascal Flatts in his home studio and band leader/musical director Doug Sisemore.

“Music conjures up great memories and goes hand and hand with us McEntires,” said Reba. “Mama, Susie and Alice even came into the studio with me to record ‘I’ll Fly Away,’ all of us gathered around an old hymnal straight from the Chockie church.”

Reba will feature the new music and signature hits spanning four decades with her first-ever headline show at Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium on February 15, 2017. Tickets are on sale now at: ryman.com/events/Reba.
