Vevo announces the release of Randy Houser‘s live performances for “Our Hearts” and “No Stone Unturned”. The Mississippi native is one of the biggest names in modern country music, with a inimitable voice that the New York Times describes as “wholly different, thicker and more throbbing, a caldron bubbling over.”
“Our Hearts” and “No Stone Unturned” come off his new album Magnolia, released in January. Magnolia is a clear deviation from his mainstream country past, with Houser choosing to self-funded the album, anticipating that he would be told it was too uncommercial.
Fortunately, his label agreed to release, with press and fans alike praising his new stripped-down that emphasized his powerful vocals. Rolling Stone was particularly impressed, calling Houser‘s voice “a terrific instrument, capable of an affecting tenor tone that is canonically country, but also of absurd grows and double-take-inducing low notes that have gone out of fashion in nearly every corner of popular music.”
