The iconic, GRAMMY® award winning group ALABAMA is scheduled to headline the nationwide SOUTHERN DRAWL TOUR kicking off on May 12th. The tour opens to a sold out three-night stand in Nashville, TN with the 80-piece Nashville Symphony Orchestra. The band will then crisscross the country performing over 35 sold out shows through the fall in support of their critically acclaimed album SOUTHERN DRAWL.
In 2015, ALABAMA sold out nearly every venue they performed in, in over 30 cities. The 2016 SOUTHERN DRAWL TOUR will give the band a chance to play 35 (plus) cities, performing crowd favorites, and songs from their new album including the new single “Come Find Me” featuring 27-time GRAMMY® winner Alison Krauss.
The fresh sound of the album has introduced the band to a new generation of listeners, who are buying tickets and showing up in mass along the tour. Younger listeners under 35 have embraced the band on Spotify and are now showing up at shows singing along to hit after hit.
Longtime fans have also embraced the familiar sound of the album. USA Today claims songs like “’American Farmer’ follows in the tradition of blue-collar anthems ‘Forty Hour Week (For A Livin’)’ and ‘Roll On (Eighteen Wheeler)’ which paid tribute to truck drivers.” When the band performs these anthemic songs that are synonymous with country music and southern culture, audiences of all ages are singing along.
Not only were those songs anthems, they were also #1 hits at country radio. In total, the band released a massive 43 #1 hits at country radio. The Country Music Hall of Fame members are the most successful band in country music history, and one of the best selling bands of any kind in any genre. They have sold over 73 million albums and have won 178 awards (and counting) including three GRAMMY® Awards and numerous CMA Awards. The band was also named ACM Entertainer of The Year an unprecedented 5 times in a row and was bestowed with the honor of ACM Career Achievement Award in the fall of 2015.
In 2016 ALABAMA is set to sell out venues all over the nation, night after night. They continue to break attendance records, they are writing and recording new music and are not content to sit and look back. They are rolling on!
