Thomas Rhett closed out his Better In Boots Tour this past weekend, and there was no better way to close out the summer concert season. Rhett put on an incredible show that was full of energy, charisma and crowd connection. Seeing and hearing Thomas Rhett onstage reaffirmed why he is one of country music’s most beloved artists & performers.
We caught Rhett’s second to last show of the tour in Ridgefield, WA which featured support act The Castellows and served as a special night for opening act Tucker Wetmore. As a Washington native who grew up about 20 miles away from the venue, it was an exciting show for Tucker and he proudly represented his hometown.
Thomas delivered a well rounded set from start to finish with songs such as “Boots,” “Crash and Burn,” “Sixteen,” “What’s Your Country Song,” “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Woman,” “After All The Bars Are Closed,” and so many more. It was a great mix of hits over the years, as well as highlighting new material from his latest album, About A Woman.
During the evening, tourmates The Castellows and Tucker Wetmore made their way back onstage. The Castellows brought their impressive harmonies as they joined Thomas for hit song “She Had Me At Heads Carolina,” which he co-wrote with Cole Swindell. Wetmore returned to join Rhett for “Small Town Girls” which was certainly fitting for the city of Kalama, WA native. By the looks (and sounds) of the crowd, it seemed everyone from his hometown showed up to support the artist on the rise. Thomas seemed just as excited for him and matched the crowd’s enthusiasm which was endearing to see.
Thomas Rhett continues to impress with every song release, every album release and most definitely every time he sets foot onstage. Rhett has become a constant in the country music community over the years, and even with all the “life changes” for him, his impact on the genre remains solid and there are no signs of him slowing down anytime soon.
