At only 32 years old, country music star Chris Young has already had an enviable and prolific career, giving fans six studio albums in 11 years. Fresh off the success of I’m Comin’ Over, which earned Young a #1 debut, 3 chart-topping singles and numerous industry accolades including ACM, BBMA, CMA, CMT, Grammy and RDMA nominations, the RCA Records Nashville recording artist revealed in a live Facebook video that he is preparing to release his seventh studio album, Losing Sleep, on October 20, 2017.
“I think the experimentation I did on I’m Comin’ Over was the most I had really done,” said Young. “So with Losing Sleep it was about continuing that. There’s stuff like the lead track, which is really different sonically from a lot of things in my catalog – and there are going to be things that feel more familiar, too. Each song has a unique vibe and life to it.”
Produced by Young and Corey Crowder, Losing Sleep is the Grammy-nominated vocalist’s third album in less than 24 months. The hotly anticipated new record features the lead single and title track, “Losing Sleep,” which is in the 20s and climbing on the Billboard and Mediabase country airplay charts.
Named “one of his era’s finest traditionalists” by the Associated Press, Young’s upcoming album Losing Sleep marks his third time co-producing with Corey Crowder, including 2015’s critically acclaimed I’m Comin’ Over and 2016’s It Must Be Christmas. Young co-wrote all 10 songs on the soon-to-be-released record.
With a hit-packed set that highlights his nine chart-toppers — including “Gettin’ You Home,” “Voices,” “Tomorrow,” “I’m Comin’ Over” and “Think Of You,” — and sixteen Gold/Platinum certified projects, Chris has joined reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Jason Aldean as special guest on his They Don’t Know Tour through October before resuming his own headlining dates later this year.
