Country Duo Two Story Road has been making a significant impression on country music and country fans. With the release of their new self-titled EP, husband and wife Brandon and Jamelle Fraley are set for a great year ahead showcasing brand new music.
CountryMusicRocks caught up with Brandon and Jamelle to get to know more about the rising country duo. Check out our exclusive interview below.
CountryMusicRocks (CMR): You recently released your new self-titled EP. Give us some background and tell us a little about this collection of new music?
Two Story Road: Before recording, we wrote and collected songs for more than a year, and had almost 100 to choose from. Being our first official project, it was important that each song had its unique place and also represented the type of artists we wanted to be. We love songs that are musically and lyrically dynamic and well crafted, and we feel like this EP is a good introduction to us and our style.
CMR: For folks that are not familiar with Two Story Road yet, what is one thing that you would like to convey to fans about you & your music?
Two Story Road: We write and sing songs for the purpose of connecting with our listeners and conveying a wide variety of emotions that people can grab a hold of. We want people to feel something when they hear our music.
CMR: In addition to being a team & working together in the music industry, you’re also a team and married! How do you balance marriage and working together day in & day out?
Two Story Road: We always make a conscious effort to dial back the career talk and just have time to ourselves. We definitely sneak in date nights here and there. Two Story Road may never truly be off the table from conversation, but we know how to put it on the back burner in exchange for a fun night on the town.
CMR: What are some fun things that you like to do in your free time, and some fun places you like to visit downtown Nashville?
Two Story Road: Just Love on Demonbreun is one of our favorite coffee spots. We’re on a first name basis with pretty much the entire staff at AMOT Eatery in East Nashville. When the weather is nice, we like to grab a few friends, rent b-cycles, and ride around Nashville. Overall, when we find pockets of downtime, we just like to be with our close friends. They mean the world to us.
CMR: What is one thing on each of your country music bucket lists?
Two Story Road: Believe it or not, we both have the same answer for this one. Together, we’ve performed on the Opry over 100 times with other artists such as Carrie Underwood, Trace Adkins, Gretchen Wilson, & Danny Gokey. And every time, we’ve stood no more then 15 feet away from that legendary circle in the center of the stage. To one day be there, and sing our own songs…that will be an extremely emotional moment for both of us.
CMR: Country Music is a genre that significantly stands out on its own, not only within the music industry but with fans too. What is one thing about country music that resonates with each of you?
Two Story Road: The fans! The people we’ve met at our shows are incredible. They share their stories with us. They’re not afraid of telling us their own hopes and dreams. We draw so much inspiration from them. Probably more than they realize. We know it sounds cliché to say this, but country music fans are just the best, and we’re incredibly grateful for every single one of them.
CMR: With 2016 just getting started, what are some things that you are looking forward to and excited about for this year?
Two Story Road: Having official music out for the public to hear really makes us feel like the door to country music has officially been opened to us. There are no limits. No boundaries. We know that every opportunity we’ve ever wanted is out there, waiting for us to find our way to it, and that’s the journey we are excited to take!
