As USA Today predicted, “’Crash and Burn,’ is acting like a career-changing hit” for CMA New Artist of the Year nominee Thomas Rhett, who earns his fourth consecutive No. one hit this week, topping the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase radio charts with the lead single from his upcoming sophomore release, TANGLED UP (The Valory Music Co.).
Even before the album’s Sept. 25 release, the Gold-certified “Crash And Burn” is pushing “the genre into exciting new territory” (Jody Rosen, New York Times) and marks the fastest rising single of his career.
“’Crash’ was a really fun way for me to introduce this album and for it to already be No. one is completely crazy,” said Thomas Rhett. “I want to give a huge thanks to everyone for taking a chance on this song and record so far – it’s just a piece of what makes up this new album and me, and I can’t wait to get the rest of it out there.”
About the new album, Rolling Stone notes “he’s discovered the artist he was always meant to be.” Thomas Rhett will continue to serve as “a standout among a crowded crop of acts” (Billboard) with a record-breaking concert event “Tangled Up in Texas,” which will include a full set of new music and his chart-topping hits at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX on Sept. 23.
Initially garnering attention as a gifted songwriter with credits including hits by Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean and Lee Brice, it is the multi-Platinum artist’s “high-energy all the way” (El Paso Times) live show that has “the audience dancing all the way up in the rafters of the stadium” (Billboard) and continues to catch the attention of critics out on the road. He is slated to headline the CMT Tour this fall kicking off Oct. 29 in New York City.
