Lee Brice’s “I Don’t Dance” is the #1 song on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Country Aircheck radio charts this week. While Brice has celebrated chart-toppers before, this one — a wedding gift to his wife Sara — is unique because it’s the first #1 single he’s written, recorded and produced.

Lee Brice is known as a hit-making songwriter with #1s including “More Than A Memory” recorded by Garth Brooks (2007) – the only song in the Billboard’s radio chart’s history to debut at #1 — and “Crazy Girl” — ACM’s 2011 Song of the Year — recorded by Eli Young Band.

As a vocalist Lee’s signature power and versatility is also reflected in songs he hasn’t penned, but has taken to #1, including “A Woman Like You” (2011), “Hard To Love” (2012), and “I Drive Your Truck” (2012), which claimed both CMA and ACM 2014 Song of the Year honors.

“His style was meticulous … and the result is by far the best album of his career,” Billboard Country Update says of Brice’s Sept. 9th Curb release.

The “evocative, rough-edged singer with a penchant for songs that celebrate frailty” (NY Times), wrote a majority of the album’s songs and went behind the console as chief producer. Lee also played many of the instruments on the deluxe edition’s 16 tracks, including banjo, drums and lead guitar.
