Country newcomers Blackjack Billy have been making their way all across the US, from coast to coast and everywhere in between, promoting their new single and EP, GET SOME. Recently signed with Bigger Picture Group, the band has been making a significant impression showcasing their brand new music.
Country Radio station 98.7 The Bull brought in Blackjack Billy to rock a nearly sold-out crowd at Duke’s Bar & Grill. The band kicked off their set with a level of high energy, instantly conveying that a party was ahead – even if it was a Tuesday night. Blackjack Billy, comprised of Noll Billings, Rob Blackledge, Patrick Cornell, Jeff Coplan and Brad Cummings, immediately formed a bond with the audience right from the start.
Blackjack Billy’s stage presence is well seasoned and their set list is well arranged as they keep the momentum going strong throughout the entire evening. The band delivered music from their debut EP including “Born To Ride, “Blood Sweet and Beer” and “Drinkalong,” as well as their popular hit singles “The Booze Cruise” and “Get Some” in which fans enjoyed singing along with the band. Blackjack Billy also showcased some brand new music from their forthcoming debut album, including new song “Working On You.” The new track brings attention to their softer side, and exposes another layer of talent that the band holds. “Working On You” would make for a great contender as a single, as well as a great fit on country radio.
Throughout the evening fans embraced the band’s new material as well as a couple of cover songs they played that included Tim McGraw’s “Something Like That” & Garth Brooks’ “Friends In Low Places.” In addition, the band treated the audience to a fun melody of songs featuring U2, Bob Marley, Nelly, Journey, and many more! Blackjack Billy’s performance was of both quality and quantity, giving fans a complete music experience. Enjoy some photos from the evening by clicking HERE.
Blackjack Billy is included on our New Artists to Watch list for 2014, and that was further solidified after watching (and enjoying) their performance. It was our first show of 2014 and Noll, Rob, Patrick, Jeff and Brad already set the bar pretty high when it comes to a live performance that leaves a lasting impression.
