Brad Paisley Launches GoFundMe Campaign To Help the State of West Virginia from Tragic Flooding

The news of the recent tragic flooding in West Virginia hit home to country superstar Brad Paisley. A native of the state, Paisley launched his first GoFundMe campaign to support those that are victims and help rebuild from the intense damage. Launching the fundraising campaign with a $100K personal donation, Brad hopes to see the ultimate goal of $1Million raised with the help from the rest of the country.

Brad Paisley shared a statement when setting up the GoFundMe account stating:
“On June 23rd, my home state of West Virginia experienced tremendous flooding that killed over 20 people and destroyed entire small towns. Three counties have been declared federal disasters and 44 of the 55 counties have been declared in a state of emergency. Now that the waters are receding it’s time to pitch in and help in any way we can. One of the best ways I have found that hopefully will raise the largest amount of money the quickest and get it to the people in need the fastest is through GoFundMe.

I have set a goal of $1 million — this is doable and only a small portion of what is needed.

All funds donated will be distributed through West Virginia Flood Relief 2016 – The Brad Paisley Foundation at WESBANCO Trust Department in Wheeling, WV.

Join me as we help West Virginians together.

Help spread the word!”

In addition to the fundraising campaign, Brad will be heading to West Virginia tomorrow, June 30, to see first hand and meet with those working to rebuild their great state.

Darius Rucker Releases New Single “If I Told You”

Capitol Records Nashville recording artist Darius Rucker has released his brand new single, “If I Told You.” Written by Ross Copperman, Shane McAnally and Jon Nite, the new track is the first release from his upcoming studio album, and is available for purchase now.

“I always tell people, the first time I heard [the Black Crowes’] ‘She Talks To Angels,’ those lyrics did something to me. I probably requested that song eight times at different bars in Columbia, S.C. before going home, putting on Bonnie Raitt’s Home Plate, and trying to write ‘She Talks To Angels’ for Bonnie Raitt. ‘Let Her Cry’ just poured out,” shares Rucker. “For me, ‘If I Told You,’ inspired me like ‘Angels’ as it’s not a song I wrote, but as a songwriter I would not change a line as it moves me to want to not only sing along but also as a songwriter it inspires a new perspective.”

“If I Told You” marks a new chapter for Rucker. This serves as his first project with producer Ross Copperman, as well as his first time working with songwriters Jon Nite and Shane McAnally.

“What I love about each album is the opportunity to expand on what we’ve done in the past—to push myself and the band creatively, vocally and lyrically,” adds Rucker. “At the end of the day, I’m a fan of great stories and great songs. With ‘Wagon Wheel’ I loved the visual it painted and it’s a song I can truly say I look forward to performing every night. With ‘If I Told You,’ I can’t wait to share in that vulnerability with the fans from the stage night-after-night.”

Darius Rucker is currently out on the road on his Good For A Good Time Tour where you can be certain to hear “If I Told You.” For a full list of tour dates, please see below or visit dariusrucker.com/shows.
