Country Artists Share Their Favorite Thanksgiving Dish, Traditions and Memories

Celebs are just like us! They have their favorite Thanksgiving dish they can’t do without and traditions that they look forward to each year. We rounded up some of Country’s hottest acts and asked them what their favorite dish is and what is their favorite Thanksgiving memory/tradition. Enjoy! Happy Thanksgiving!

Jerrod Niemann

Jerrod Niemann - CountryMusicRocks.netFavorite Dish: My Mom’s, one of a kind, home style egg noodles cooked in chicken broth and chicken bullion. Then of course we like to put them on mashed potatoes. It’s so good & I can’t wait to dig in again this year!

Be sure to check out Jerrod’s current single, “A Little More Love.”

Carly Pearce

Carly PearceFavorite dish: allllll the pumpkin pie.

Favorite tradition: I really love to cook, so thanksgiving has become the holiday that my mom and I spend cooking together. We make a menu and then split which dishes we will do, all still cooking together. My mamaw is no longer with us, but we honor her by making a lot of recipes from her recipe book. My mom is my best friend, so this is something I look forward to every year.

Josh Taerk

Josh TaerkFavorite Dish: The Turkey. When I think of Thanksgiving I think of a Turkey big enough to feed a small army, my family is 7 people without the extended crew. We slow roast the turkey for 3 hours on a Kettle BBQ over a mix of hot coals and hickory wood. Every year as soon as that bird hits the grill everyone huddles around it, like we’re trying to watch the game, taking in all that smokey goodness, laughing and joking around.

Favorite Memory: That’s what Thanksgiving is about for me. It’s not about the food but how the food, prep and the day brings families together. I remember one year when I was little we all decided to go for a hike before dinner and drove out to Orangeville Ontario to do a section of the Bruce Trail. We got to this one part of the trail where the rock starts coming out from under the ground and makes this ramp climbing up to a set of small cliffs. My siblings and I must have run up and down that rock ramp for hours. Good times.

Spencer Crandall

Spencer CrandallFavorite Food: Turkey and Pecan Pie

Favorite Tradition: Every year we drive up to see my family and listen to Christmas music together in the car.

Favorite Memory: I used to put on performances for my family. I don’t know why, but I would gather everyone around and make them listen to me sing opera.

Check out his current single, “Do It All Again.”

Kaylee Rutland

Kaylee RutlandFavorite Dish: I just call it “Pink Stuff”. It’s a dessert that’s filled with Cool Whip, cherries, bananas, pineapples and marshmallows. So yummy!

Favorite Tradition/Memory: I love waking up early on Thanksgiving morning to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. We’d always have lunch with family at my Nana’s house and after lunch all the cousins run around and play hide and seek.

Check out her current single, “Pick Me Up.”

Boo Ray

boo-rayFavorite Dish: Turkey Gumbo

Favorite Tradition: And we always fought over who was gonna get to pull the Turkey wishbone. One time the wishbone broke dead even and we had a knock down drag-out over who won.

Jason Aldean Notches 18th No. 1, Plus Announces New Single

Jason Aldean’s latest single, “A Little More Summertime,” has topped the country charts, earning the country superstar his 18th career No. One single. The track is the second #1 released from his latest studio album, They Don’t Know.

In addition to the news of Aldean’s #1, the singer/songwriter is bringing “Any Ol’ Barstool” to country radio!

“I think ‘Any Ol’ Barstool’ is probably one of the best written songs on the album,” said Aldean. “The guy is just trying to convince her that he’s doing fine, not drinking too much. It’s one of things we’ve all been through in some way. Plus, that traditional feel is the Country music I grew up on and has always been important to me to include on our albums. I love that stuff.”

“Any Ol’ Barstool” can be found on Jason Aldean’s newest album, They Don’t Know. Grab a copy at a retail store near you, or on iTunes here.

Kenny Chesney Returns To Gillette Stadium For His ONLY Stadium Show in 2017

Country superstar Kenny Chesney will be taking a bit of a break next summer as he will not be out on a full summer tour. However, he will be playing a handful of shows throughout the summer season, including both Tortuga Music Festival and Stagecoach. Summer just wouldn’t be the same without Kenny heading to New England, and he will end the summer in typical Chesney fashion at Gillette Stadium.

For one night, at least at this point, Chesney will close out his summer on August 25, 2017 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA. Kenny will be bringing Thomas Rhett with him and his good friends Old Dominion once again to join him back at the stadium. This will serve as Chesney’s only stadium show of 2017.

“Even though I’m not going to go out with a full tour next year, I can’t imagine summer without getting out there and rocking everyone at Gillette Stadium” Chesney shared with fans. “From the beginning, the amount of heart and soul that came at us from the first note at Gillette was beyond intense. It’s never let up, it’s never slowed down. Every summer, every show, every song, they push us even harder than we push them. It’s kind of addicting, and something I can’t imagine a summer without. So we’re coming, Boston – and you know, this is our one shot at a big, big show, so you better get ready.”

Presale tickets go on sale Wednesday, November 23. For more information, please visit KennyChesney.com.
