Cody Johnson’s first major label release Ain’t Nothin’ To It has impressively debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart after being touted as one of their “Most Anticipated Albums of 2019.” The 15-track release also arrived at #9 on Billboard’s All-Genre 200 Albums chart, #1 on their All-Genre Digital Album Sales chart and #2 on the All-Genre Overall Album Sales chart.
Its lead single “On My Way To You,” which Johnson recently performed on TODAY (WATCH HERE), is officially Top 20 at country radio this week, having already reached over 33 million on-demand streams and selling over 310,000 track equivalents.
Ain’t Nothin’ To Itwas the third-highest pre-added album of all time in the country music genre on Apple Music with Taste of Country boldly declaring “you’re not likely to find a more consistent album in 2019.” Rolling Stone praises the way Johnson “transitions easily into the heart of the Nashville machine on his new album” while Pandora asserts that the album is “sure to swell the ranks of his CoJo Nation fan base, with plenty of his own material and personality.”
Prior to his CoJo Music / Warner Music Nashville partnership, Johnson made history asthe first independent artist to sell out Rodeo Houston, selling over 75,000 tickets and over $250,000 in merchandise. The Texas native will be headlining the stadium for a third time on March 15 prior to his debut Ryman Auditorium performance in May, which he has already sold out four months in advance(see a full list of tour dates below).
Johnson entered 2019 with his name on several Artist to Watch lists including The Tennessean’s Nashville’s Next Stars, MusicRow’s 2019 Next Big Thing, iHeartRadio’s Artists to Watch in 2019, and Pandora’s Artist to Watch 2019 playlist.
