Big Machine Label Group hosted its annual luncheon during Country Radio Seminar (CRS) last week. In a room full of radio and industry professionals, Scott Borchetta emceed the event to showcase talented artists on each of his rosters.
Before the event “officially” began, Borchetta surprised the audience by bringing Thomas Rhett to the stage. Rhett’s journey has been an amazing one and it was such a treat for everyone that he came out to play his latest single, “Marry Me,” for us.
Opening up the performances was Drake White. You can’t help but stomp your feet when he is on stage. His infectious smile and smooth vocals makes us excited to see the singer/songwriter on the road this year. We were treated to his hit single “Livin’ The Dream,” as well as new track “All Would Be Right With The World” and “Girl In Pieces.”
Tyler Rich made a solid introduction with his debut performance at the annual luncheon. Signed on the Valory Music imprint, Rich gave industry professionals a sneak peek of what’s ahead from him, including a fantastic performance of his debut single “The Difference” which will be impacting country radio soon.
Artist on the rise Brett Young took the stage next. The singer/songwriter had an explosive year throughout 2017 and the momentum will no doubt continue throughout 2018 for Young. Performing his hit singles, “In Case You Didn’t Know,” “Like I Loved You,” and “Sleep Without You,” the industry, just like fans, can’t wait for another amazing year ahead from the talented artist.
Trent Harmon showcased his outstanding artistry during his two-song set. Starting off with his powerful ballad, “Her,” all eyes were on Trent and ears were tuned in to his phenomenal vocals. Introducing his brand new single, Harmon brought the audience to their feet, and some to tears, with an epic performance of an epic song, “You Got ‘Em All.” The emotion felt throughout the room was massive, and the performance served as a pivotal moment during the event.
Sugarland was the closing artist of the luncheon. To say that seeing and hearing Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush back on stage together again was fantastic would be an understatement. Highlighting their hits throughout the years such as “Something More,” “All I Wanna Do,” “Stuck Like Glue” and “Baby Girl,” and their brand new single which also earned them a well deserved standing ovation, “Still The Same,” Sugarland is most definitely still the same! Their talents and showmanship was perfectly executed throughout each song, and folks are in for a great summer ahead with their Still The Same Tour.
