Country Superstar Eric Church will be hitting the road in 2017 on his Holdin’ My Own Tour. The country superstar revealed the exciting news via Facebook Live last night, 8/9, prior to taking the stage at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater.

Church is bringing a couple of changes to his headlining tour in the new year. There will be no opening acts during the tour. Instead, Eric will “hold his own” and play two sets with an intermission in between.

Additionally, there will be changes to the ticketing process for this tour. Church is a huge advocate of eliminating scalpers from obtaining tickets to re-sell for his shows. The only pre-sales that will occur will be directly through the fan club, and a larger allotment of tickets will be available to Church Choir Members. There will be no credit card, venue or radio pre-sales for any of the concert dates. Church Choir Members will need to pre-register and be verified in order to obtain pre-sale tickets. “In this era where growing inequality seems to be the norm, we wanted to do everything within our power to put the advantage back in the hands of true fans rather than those that take advantage of the system, and by extension our people,” said John Peets, Church’s manager. “It was important to us to invest time into evaluating and redesigning the ticket buying process and build the technology to level the playing field.”

This new course of action will give Church Fans a greater opportunity to attend his shows, all while paying face value for the tickets. If this new model proves to be effective, concert goers may start to see this as the new norm.

“The way this album came together mandated we release it as a surprise, straight to our fans, as it was important for me to deliver the music the same way the creativity hit me—directly and swiftly.” said Church. “What I didn’t anticipate is that it left me scratching my head a little as this year was supposed to be spent writing.”

Pre-sale registrations for Eric Church’s Holdin’ My Own Tour is going on now and will continue through 11:59 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Aug. 23.
