Atlantic recording artist Brett Eldredge’s ”Beat of the Music” was just certified gold by the RIAA, while the song hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart June 16th.
To celebrate the occasion of the song reaching No. 1, Eldredge made a jump into the water with the sharks just off the coast of the Bahamas yesterday. The exclusive story broke this morning on People.com.

The enthusiastic stunt was part of a bet Eldredge made before the song hit the top of the charts, when he agreed to go shark diving should he be lucky enough to have his second consecutive single off his debut album reach No. 1. This underwater gold single and No. 1 plaque presentation is believed to be the first of its kind.
Eldredge and his team made the dive in association with The Rock the Ocean Foundation, who organized the shark diving adventure with Stuart Coves Dive Bahamas. Rock the Oceans mission is to increase public awareness about impacting the worlds oceans and to support scientific research, education and the ocean conservation initiatives.
