Stephen Wilson Jr. is currently out on his Søn of Dad Tour, and we were able to catch one of his unforgettable shows in the PNW.  The singer-songwriter took the audience on a journey throughout the evening, narrating story after story through his songs and painting vivid imagery that brought everything full circle.

Stephen Wilson Jr.’s set is well rounded as he delivers impressive track after track from his catalog of music. Starting with opening song “Calico Creek,” Wilson continues with “Billy,” “Kid,” “Patches,” “I’m A Song,” “Year To Be Young 1994” and many more. The crowd was also treated to a special rendition of “Stand By Me.”

One of the evening’s powerful moments was before the performance of “Father’s Son.” Stephen shared memories of the final moments with his father who was a very important figure in his life. It was a raw, it was real, and it was heartfelt. He took a dark moment in his life and turned it into a moving song capturing the pride of being a “JR.” This is storytelling on another level. This is the heart of country music. And this is what Stephen Wilson Jr. does really, really well.

One of our big takeaways from the show was not only Stephen Wilson Jr.’s talent, because that is definitely at the forefront, but the fans that were taking the show in. Everyone was captivated with each & every song just as much as the artist performing on stage. There was minimal idle chatter amongst the crowd, if any, as fans were immersed in each and every moment being delivered. This isn’t something you see at every show, but it was crystal clear that you do at a Stephen Wilson Jr. show. The connection was strong between the artist and his fans as a bond was formed throughout the evening.

We’re so excited for what is ahead for him. Not only for him as an artist, but for us as fans/listeners because without a doubt we’re all in for something special from him as he continues on this path.
