After a quiet few months following his No. 1 smash “Think A Little Less,” Atlantic Records / Warner Music Nashville recording artist Michael Ray is diving into the summer with brand new music. “Get To You,” the first single from his upcoming sophomore album, is available now. Written by Abe Stoklasa and Pavel Dovgalyuk, the song asks a girl who has been hurt to take another chance at love.
The singer/songwriter and performer treated fans to music old and new this past week at CMA Music Festival, where he played shows at his own sold-out fan party at Warner Music Nashville, HGTV Lodge, the Concert for Love & Acceptance and Chevrolet Riverfront Stage. The latter performance gave Ray and the audience a moment to remember when country music legend Randy Travis joined him on stage to sing “Forever and Ever, Amen.” Travis, who is still recovering from a stroke he suffered in 2013, joined the crowd in singing and closed with a final “Amen.”
“The fan support I’ve received in the two and a half years since my debut single premiered has been unbelievable – it has carried me through two No. 1 songs and hundreds of performances,” said Ray. “Now it is time to get those fans some new music. I am so excited to put ‘Get To You’ into the hands of the people who have supported me the most!”
Ray recently earned his second No. 1 hit single with “Think A Little Less.” The track has earned over 1.1 billion airplay audience impressions, more than 32 million on-demand streams, has sold 500,000 track equivalents and is one of the Top 10 most-downloaded country songs of the year so far. When the debut single “Kiss You In The Morning” from his self-titled album hit the top of the charts, Ray became the only new male country artist to have a No. 1 single in 2015.
