Country music superstar Blake Shelton will unveil the latest song from his milestone new album If I’m Honest in a very special performance with Gwen Stefani on The Voice next Monday, May 9.

Shelton, in his 10th season as coach on the show, announced the duet of “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” on Monday night’s episode. Shelton and Stefani co-wrote the song and perform it together on If I’m Honest, due May 20 from Warner Bros. Records/Warner Music Nashville. The two have competed on The Voice in the past as coaches and Stefani served as the advisor/mentor for his team this season.

“This is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written or recorded,” Shelton said. “It came from a time and place when Gwen and I were beginning our journey together and both experiencing a hard time letting our guards down with each other. The song couldn’t possibly be more honest. I’m honored to have written and performed this song with the great Gwen Stefani. Respect.”

The Scott Hendricks-produced If I’m Honest is Shelton’s 12th studio album and his most personal. Lead single “Came Here to Forget” has entered the Top 5 of the Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts after tying Shelton’s record for best start on the charts at No. 18.

“Go Ahead and Break My Heart” is the fourth song from If I’m Honest Shelton has shared with fans in the run-up to release. The touching, extremely personal “Savior’s Shadow” has been released to Christian radio and The Angry Birds Movie soundtrack entry “Friends” has been used to help promote the film.
