Multi-platinum, GRAMMY nominated Country act Eli Young Band and mulit-platinum-selling Pop sensation Andy Grammer have teamed up to release a new version of the #1 hit “Honey, I’m Good.” Fans can get a sneak peek today, exclusively on People.com. The duet will be available on iTunes tomorrow, Tuesday (7/14) and will impact Country radio stations nationwide on July 27.
Grammer’s original version of “Honey, I’m Good.” has already topped the iTunes Pop chart claiming the #1 spot. The song spent multiple weeks at #1 on the Adult Pop radio chart and continues to climb within the Top 10 on the Top 40 radio chart. The song is currently in its 9th consecutive week in the Top 10 on Shazam U.S. Top 100 chart. Additionally, “Honey, I’m Good.” has over 45 million YouTube views, over 40 million streams on Spotify and has been certified PLATINUM with over 1.8 million copies sold to date. This morning, Soundscan reports sales of 133,884 for “Honey, I’m Good.” on the latest chart.
When asked about releasing the song to a new audience Grammer said, “I always felt this song was Country at its core. Being in the studio with the Eli Young Band, I finally got to hear it come home.” Grammer’s vocals bear a striking similarity to frontman Mike Eli’s, highlighted as the two exchange verses throughout the song, making EYB’s sound a natural fit.
Eli added, “This is a great country song. We fell in love with it before Andy ever asked us to be part of this release. Andy is an incredible singer and one heck of a songwriter so we couldn’t be happier to help expand upon what he’s already accomplished. We can’t wait for everyone to hear the new version.”
The pairing will also mark EYB’s first single on The Valory Music Co. and the S-Curve artist Grammer’s first Country release. With both artists on indie labels, the new version of “Honey, I’m Good.” is a true independent release.
