A THOUSAND HORSES haven’t slowed down since their history-making debut on the Country charts earlier this year with their first single “Smoke.” The hit song has reached the number 1 spot this week on both Mediabase and Billboard Country Airplay charts, one week before their debut album, SOUTHERNALITY (Republic Nashville), is released on June 9.

“Absolutely unreal! I’ve dreamed of this day since I picked up a guitar and started trying to write songs when I was 12 years old,” frontman Michael Hobby reflects. “We are all so appreciative of Country radio for their support and to the fans for making this song theirs.”

“It’s rare air for an act in any genre of music to accomplish what A Thousand Horses has just achieved,” added Jimmy Harnen, EVP Big Machine Label Group/President Republic Nashville. “Country radio has welcomed this band with open arms and we are incredibly grateful for their support! It takes a village to break a band so on behalf of the entire team and to everyone who has cheered this band on along the way, we say, thank you to all of the believers!”

A Thousand Horses, whose sound is a perfect mix of Country and Southern Rock, has had tremendous success right out of the gate. The nine-piece band has received wide critical acclaim from national outlets including Entertainment Weekly who raved the new album “stomps like the Black Crowes and thrashes like Skynyrd but roars with a swagger all its own.” Rolling Stone Country named them as a 2015 “Artist You Need to Know” and USA Today named them a 2015 “Artist to Watch.” They also recently made their television debut on TODAY immediately followed by two performances on FOX and Friends.

A Thousand Horses – comprised of Hobby, guitarists Bill Satcher and Zach Brown and bassist Graham DeLoach – are backed by a dynamic five-piece band including three soulful female back-up singers. They are currently on the road with Darius Rucker’s SOUTHERN STYLE TOUR but will be back in Nashville for upcoming performances at CMA Fest on June 11 at 1:25pm on the Bud Light Stage as well as at Bonnaroo on June 14 at 5:30pm on The Who Stage. They will also be at the CMT Music Awards on June 10 where they are nominated for the first time for Group Video of the Year for “Smoke.”

The second single off of SOUTHERNALITY will be “(This Ain’t No) Drunk Dial” which impacts radio on June 29. It is currently available to purchase on iTunes along with five other songs off of the album, which is also available for pre-order before its release June 9.
