Atlantic recording artist Brett Eldredge’s “Beat of the Music” holds the No. 1 position this week on Billboards Hot Country Songs chart and on Mediabase/Country Aircheck. This marks Eldredge’s second consecutive single from his debut album, Bring You Back, to hit the top of the country radio charts.
“I admittedly remember constantly checking the charts when ”Don’t Ya” was making its journey, and I mean JOURNEY, to the No. 1 spot,” reflects Eldredge. “I needed a hit so badly at the time and I thought about it constantly. I don’t think I slept at all. Then, I realized just how awesome of a team I had and how lucky I was to have people on my radio team and at country radio that believed and fought for me. When ”Beat of the Music” came out, I told myself to just get out there, sing my songs, and leave the rest to my team to do what they do best, and oh, did they. I’m a very lucky guy!”
When “Don’t Ya” reached No. 1, Eldredge took a group of people skydiving because of a bet he had made to face his fear of heights. As soon as he landed back on the ground, he already decided what he’d do if his next single hit the top spot on the charts: Go shark diving.
”Man, shark diving (in a cage) makes me so nervous and excited just talking about it,” says Eldredge. ”I love the ocean and am fascinated by sharks. I’d just rather them not be hungry sharks when we do this thing. Oh well, bring it on!”
”If I am fortunate enough to get another No. 1,” he continues. “I think I’ll just do something simple like throw a party on flat, dry land!”
