Kenny Chesney Announces Duet with P!NK, Pushes Back Album Release Date

Good things come to those who wait, and fans are going to have to wait just a little bit longer for the release of Kenny Chesney’s new studio album, Some Town Somewhere. Originally set for release on July 8, the new album has been pushed back to the fall with a new release date of October 28.

The news of the album delay comes with good reason. The country superstar will be including a very special duet with award winning pop artist, P!NK. The song, “Setting The World On Fire,” is one that he just couldn’t leave off of his upcoming album. “Sure, it would be easier to just leave everything on schedule,” says Chesney. “But when you have something you know is great, and it captures the best part of being alive, why wouldn’t you slow down enough to make it happen in the moment? That’s what ‘Setting The World On Fire’ is all about – and I figure it may be a while before I make another record, and I don’t want to wait to share this because it’s so good.”

While spending time in California, Kenny ran into P!NK and subsequently was able to have the chance to really get to know the Grammy Award winning artist. During that time he realized he wanted to share “Setting The World On Fire” with her. “P!NK’s voice holds so many feelings all at the same time: joy, desire, a bit of toughness, a little hurt” Chesney explains. “She’s an incredible singer – and has this great tone that shines but has a little wear to it, but doesn’t sound beat up. So I called her.”

“The thing about P!NK, beyond what a great singer she is, is what a generous spirit she has. To me, great singers are the ones who can get inside a song and capture the spark. When you hear P!NK on this song, you believe her – and to me, that’s everything the song required to come to life.”

“To have a song that is so ‘right in the moment’ is a rare thing. ‘Somewhere With You’ had it, too. But that’s a song of wanting, and this, this is a song of being. But the more I listened, the more I knew I needed a woman’s voice, to be in the song with me.”

This is not the first time Chesney has collaborated with an artist from another genre. The country sensation has teamed up with Grace Potter not once, but twice which resulted in hit singles “You and Tequila” and “Wild Child.” Additional collaborations also include Dave Matthews, Uncle Kracker, Mac McAnally and The Wailers.

Heading to the Top 5 on the country charts, Kenny’s new single “Noise” is the first release from his upcoming album Some Town Somewhere. “Noise” is available now on digital music outlets, such as  iTunes, here.

Chesney is currently out on the road on his Spread The Love Tour featuring Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt and Old Dominion. For tour dates and ticket info, please visit kennychesney.com/events.

Keith Urban Invites Fan On Stage to Play His Guitar

As the old saying goes, “never say never,” that certainly held true for concert goer Rob Joyce this past Saturday night. While attending Keith Urban’s ripCord concert in Gilford, New Hampshire, Joyce and his girlfriend made some signs hoping to get the superstar’s attention.

Well, it worked for the aspiring musician! Rob’s girlfriend held up a sign indicating “It’s my boyfriend’s birthday”, while he held up one up asking “Can I play your guitar?” This type of request via a hand held sign is probably one that Urban doesn’t see that often, so Keith makes Rob’s night a little more special. Inviting the fan to the stage, Keith literally takes the guitar off his shoulder and Rob Joyce becomes part of the band and plays Urban’s “Good Thing.”

To top it all off, Keith posted a video after his show giving props to Rob Joyce and his skills. What an epic night, not only for Rob Joyce, but for all the fans that got to witness such an amazing moment. It is reasons like this that Keith Urban is a total  class act and well respected artist in the industry and beyond.
