Rory Feek of the beloved country duo Joey + Rory announced devastating news on his blog this morning, This Life I Live. His wife, Joey, has been battling cervical cancer. Unfortunately, the tumors have returned and spreading aggressively.
Joey underwent surgery and treatment in Atlanta earlier this year. After returning to the doctors recently for another round of treatment, they were informed of the news that the cancer is still there and spreading.
“Sometimes there just aren’t enough surgeries – or doctors – or chemotherapies – or prayers. And you have to wipe the tears from your cheeks and say the words that you were hoping to never have to say… Enough” Rory shares on his blog.
It was indicated to the couple that treatment would only buy them a little time. Instead, they decided to forego treatment and go home. “Not to die. But to live.” Rory says.
The grace and courage from both Joey & Rory is astounding. They are spending their days at their home in Tennessee with their beautiful daughter Indiana Boon (1). Read more on Rory’s blog, This Life I Live, HERE.
