Show Dog-Universal recording artist Krystal Keith is gearing up for her first promotional tour, to top country stations in markets including San Diego, Los Angeles, Bakersfield, Sacramento, San Jose, Dallas, Kansas City, and Oklahoma City. Her radio tour will continue in other regions throughout the month of August.
Earlier this month, Keith performed at the Oklahoma Twister Relief Concert in Norman, Oklahoma. Joining a lineup that included Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson, Sammy Hagar, Trisha Yearwood, Ronnie Dunn, Carrie Underwood, and her father Toby Keith, the newcomer opened the concert with the national anthem and later performed one of her original songs, “Get Your Redneck On.” Both Keiths call the area home, making the performance especially personal for Krystal.
“I spent a lot of time out in the most devastated areas lending whatever kind of help I could. Seeing the smiles on the faces of families as they sift through the debris and find a special memento took my breath away. They have a survivor’s spirit and those are the kind of people that make you proud to be an Oklahoman,” Krystal says. “Being a part of this benefit concert was incredibly special for me. Looking out into that crowd it was impossible not to find a familiar face in every direction. It shows how many of my friends, family and neighbors were affected and though the crowd was so large, what a sense of community we all came together to represent.” Donations have been encouraged before, during and after the show, and can be made by texting REBUILD to 52000 to send $10 to the United Way of Central Oklahoma’s May Tornadoes Relief Fund or by logging onto www.unitedwayokc.org.
The video for her first release, the song “Daddy Dance With Me,” was released this spring in time for wedding season and Father’s Day, and has already surpassed 1,200,000 views. GACTV.com notes, “Krystal Keith’s ‘Daddy Dance With Me’ music video is resonating with fans everywhere;” while the Cleveland Plain Dealer proclaims, “it’s a great father-daughter dance tune just for weddings, and I suspect once word gets out, she’s gonna make a killing on the royalties. Or she should, anyway.”
A surprise gift recorded for her father and first played for him at her wedding, the song’s impact will only grow as it makes its way to radio. Her debut album Whiskey & Lace will be released early next year.
