Capitol Records Nashville’s Darius Rucker debuted his new single “True Believers” at country radio this week. “True Believers” is the first single from Rucker’s upcoming third solo country album which is produced by Frank Rogers and will be released in early 2013.

Rucker admits that as a songwriter, the melody and the lyrics really come to him at the same time during the process. “Josh [Kear] brought the general idea of ‘True Believers’ into the writing sessions, and to me, it was so exactly what I wanted to say. It’s such a defiant song for me – the message that ‘My life works for me, whether it’s what you agree with or not’ – and it’s something I am really proud of as a singer and a writer. With this record as a whole, we wanted to do something a little different,” shares Rucker. “It’s really all about the songs, and I think ‘True Believers’ is a great sample of what’s to come from my third album.”

Rucker’s first two country albums, Learn To Live and Charleston, SC 1966 both topped the Billboard Country album chart and produced five No. 1 singles including “Come Back Song,” “This,” “Alright,” “It Won’t Be Like This For Long” and “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It.” In 2009 Rucker was named New Artist of the Year at the CMA Awards.

“True Believers” is scheduled to officially impact country radio on September 4, and is now available on iTunes on by clicking HERE.
