Earlier today, Florida Georgia Line inked their first-ever major record deal with Republic Nashville/BMLG. Monroe, Georgia’s Tyler Hubbard and Ormond Beach, Florida’s Brian Kelley have previously been selected for coveted opening slots on dates across the nation for Jake Owen and Brantley Gilbert as well as the annual Country Throwdown Tour.
“Florida Georgia Line has built a gigantic army of loyal fans, one by one…door to door, who have rocked with them at shows all across the USA and Canada! Their talent, energy and work ethic are second to none and we could be no more proud to welcome Tyler and Brian into the Republic Nashville family,” said Republic Nashville President and Big Machine Label Group EVP Jimmy Harnen.
“What an honor and a blessing to be a part of such a great team and awesome label… This is another step in the FGL journey and I’m so pumped to see where this leads!” said Hubbard.
Elaborating on their excitement, Kelley noted, “Our family just got bigger! We are so excited to work with everyone at the label. It’s a dream come true. We are ready to rock, ready to work and ready for the ride of our lives!”
In addition to their energetic live show, Florida Georgia Line has garnered mass appeal with fans and critics alike. Their debut single, “Cruise,” provided the soundtrack for a varsity baseball team’s trek to a Seattle tournament. Watch HERE.
The single has sold well over 100,000 copies to date and is listed in the Top 30 nationally on iTunes Country Singles Chart as well as sits in the Top 25 for sales in many major markets. Republic Nashville will amp up promotion efforts for the hot new single, “Cruise,” but with an infectious lyrics and a buoyant melody, it’s no wonder that critics are already flocking to the tune.
