Average Joes Entertainment’s Colt Ford was scheduled to perform an acoustic free show for local station WXCY in Charlestown, MD on Monday, July 23 at the Wellwood Restaurant.  Due to high demand from fans and an overwhelming amount of calls to the station and venue, public safety officials have postponed the event.

WXCY issued a statement to listeners yesterday on the station’s Facebook page to explain: “WXCY and The Wellwood Restaurant have postponed the Colt Ford performance for PUBLIC SAFETY REASONS. The show was supposed to be an acoustic event which has grown out of control and the venue is not capable of handling the expected crowds. Please know, WXCY along with Colt are actively working to find a new location, with a date and time to be announced.”

Ford was equally as disappointed as his fans, but understands safety must come first.  A concerned Ford posted a video to his fans explaining the reasons for the postponement. Ford expresses his concern and says, “ I don’t want anyone to get hurt at my shows.  I want everyone to have fun, so I promise you, we are finding a bigger place.  Another venue and I will be back!”
