The 2012 CMA Music Festival promises to bring even more excitement and entertainment to downtown Nashville. With eight stages, this year’s Festival will have more live music than ever before.

“We are so excited to be able to bring our fans more music at this year’s CMA Music Festival,” said Steve Moore, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “With added stages, this year fans will be able to hear music everywhere.”

With so much to do and see at this four-day festival, it takes seven days to get it all in. And the fun begins tonight, Monday June 4!!

Worldwide Appeal
CMA Music Festival becomes an international affair with “Chevrolet™ Presents the CMA Global Artist Party,” tonight, beginning at 6:00 PM at The Stage on Broadway. Hosted by Australian husband and wife duo O’Shea, the Global Artist Party will feature performances from a variety of international Country Music artists including Bob Corbett (Australia),Emerson Drive (Canada), Morgan Evans (Australia), Vickie Evans (New Zealand), Adam Harvey (Australia), High Valley (Canada), Lisa McHugh (Ireland) with the legendary Gene Watson (U.S.), Craig Morrison (Australia), Jess Moskaluke (Canada), Gary Quinn (UK), and Joe Robinson (Australia).

On Tuesday, starting at 12:30 PM at The Second Fiddle, Australian artists Adam Harvey will host “CMA Presents the Aristo Global Show.” Artists participating include Baylou (Australia), Clayton Bellamy (Canada), Rick Caballo (Australia), Adam Gregory (Canada), Pete Kennedy (Ireland), Colm Kirwan (Ireland), Josh Macumber (Canada), Raintown (UK), Jessica Ridley (Canada), and Travellin Rose (UK). A free lunch will be offered for attendees.

Reach for the Summit
On Monday and Tuesday, the Third Annual Billboard Country Music Summit, in association with the Country Music Association, will take place at The Cannery Ballroom. The two-day event will feature panel discussions, case studies, and keynote interviews, as well as artist showcases and networking opportunities. With Celebrity Q&A’s by Luke Bryan, Willie Nelson, and Dwight Yoakam, programming will focus on the most important issues affecting artists, songwriters, managers, agents, promoters, label executives, music publishers, radio programmers, and all those closely associated with the Country Music business. Strike Up the Band
On Wednesday, beginning at 11:00 AM, The Eighth Annual CMA Music Festival Kick-Off Parade will feature Country Music artists and other celebrities riding in a wide variety of Chevrolet vehicles. Immediately following the parade, the Seventh Annual CMA Music Festival Block Party will take place at the Chevrolet Riverfront Stage. Free and open to the public, the concert starts at 12:30 PM with Little Big Town kicking it off followed by Brazilbilly, Eric Lee Beddingfield, and LoCash Cowboys. Angie Johnson will sing the national anthem and Shane Tallant of “Music City 411” will host.

Party the Night Away
“Marty Stuart’s Late Night Jam” takes place Wednesday (10:00 PM) at the Ryman Auditorium. Performers for this year’s event include, The Chuck Wagon Gang, Stonewall Jackson, the Oak Ridge Boys, Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives, Roger McGuinn,  2012 Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Connie Smith & The Sundowners, Wynonna.

The Fun “Officially” Begins
The 2012 CMA Music Festival officially begins Thursday and continues through Sunday with 450 artists and celebrities, 200 hours of concerts, autograph signings, family activities, interactive exhibits, giveaways, games, and much more.   

It’s For the Kids
The artists who participate in CMA Music Festival are not compensated for the hours they spend performing and signing autographs. To show its appreciation, CMA contributes proceeds from the event to the “Keep the Music Playing” program which benefits music education in Metro Nashville Public Schools. To date, CMA and the CMA Foundation have contributed more than $6.1 million to this fund to purchase much-needed musical instruments and supplies for students, as well as fund a $1 million endowment for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s “Words and Music” program.

In support of this initiative Jack in the Box® will be selling Jumbo Jack® burgers for $1.00 all weekend long, with proceeds going to support Keep the Music Playing, CMA’s music education initiative. Look for their brand new food truck located at the entrance to the Chevrolet Riverfront Park.

Take Me to the River
CMA Award-winning, multi-Platinum recording duo Montgomery Gentry will kick off four days of concerts at the Chevrolet Riverfront Stage beginning Thursday (10:00 AM). The Chevrolet Riverfront Stage, located at Riverfront Park, is free and open to the public and will feature many of Country Music’s legends and hottest rising stars over the course of the Festival. Admittance to the Chevrolet Riverfront Stage is free, but four-day ticket holders have an exclusive 45-minute, early-entrance window before the gates open to the general public.

A Little Night Music
The Nightly Concerts on the LP Field Concert Stage feature the biggest names in Country Music, emerging stars, and surprise guests. Four-day ticket holders can get a front-row shot from the popular Photo Line, which is in constant motion in front of the stage during the performances.

Pre-show activities opening night (7:30 PM) include a Music City welcome from Nashville Mayor Karl Dean, and the presentation of the Stars and Stripes by the Marines of Recruiting Station Nashville. David Nail will perform the title track of his album The Sound of a Million Dreams with the Nashville School of the Arts Chamber Choir (under the direction of Walter Bitner). Taking place on Saturday (1:00 PM-2:00 PM), the Wrangler Fashion show, hosted by GAC’s Suzanne Alexander, will feature Country artists and celebrities modeling the latest styles from Wrangler and Durango. Manuel, an icon of Country couture, will add his distinctive embellishments to a few of the fashions.

Thursday (10:30 AM, 12:00 PM, and 4:00 PM), Friday and Saturday (9:15 AM and 4:15 PM) fans can catch a screening of a behind the scenes look at the making of Kenny Chesney’s upcoming album, “Welcome to the Fishbowl,” in room 209 of the Fan Fair Hall.

Additionally, on Friday and Saturday, there will be viewings for “Malibu Country” and “Nashville,” two of ABC’s new television series. “Malibu Country” (starring Reba) can be seen at 10:30 AM, 12:15 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:45PM; while “Nashville” can be seen at 11:15 AM, 1:00 PM, and 2:45 PM.

Hittin’ the Streets
This year The Buckle is where it all comes together. Situated along Broadway between First and Fourth Avenues, The Buckle is where fans come to enjoy activities, games, live entertainment, demonstrations, free samples, autograph signings, and more!

The Buckle Stage will host a variety of performances and activities beginning with concerts presented by ASCAP on Thursday, June 7. Artists scheduled to perform include Hannah Dasher, Kalisa Ewing, JJ Lawhorn, Emily Lynch, Summerlin Road, Brent Wesley, and Channing Wilson.

On Friday, June 8, and Saturday, June 9 (10:00 AM–6:00 PM/CT), ABC returns to the 2012 CMA Fest with the ABC Summer Block Party featuring special appearances by your favorite ABC stars, musical performances, autograph signings, games, giveaways, photos, and much more! Friday only, the ABC Summer Block Party will also feature Nashville’s own Grilled Cheeserie Truck to take care of Fest goers hunger with sandwiches provided and inspired by ABC’s “The Chew. 

The annual YWCA Celebrity Auction will take place on The Buckle Stage on Sunday, June 10 (11:00 AM– 5:00 PM/CT). Hosted by Big Kenny, this annual auction has raised more than $1.5 million to support the services of the YWCA Weaver Domestic Violence Center. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on items donated by Jason Aldean, Big & Rich, Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, and Keith Urban.

Located in Fan Alley, The Chevrolet Roadhouse will be a unique downtown destination where fans can experience, create and share the Country lifestyle. Attendees can check out a variety of Chevrolet vehicles, cool off with refreshing iced tea at the Lipton Tea Bar, and create personalized and sharable digital concert show prints. The Chevrolet Roadhouse stage will feature performances by artists including Weston Burt, Due West, Erin Enderlin, Flynnville Train, Adam Gregory, Amber Hayes, Imaj, Zach Lockwood, Lucy Angel, Rachele Lynae, Josh Mullins, Gary Quinn, Chase Rice, The Roys, Matt Stillwell, and Jason Thomas.

The Lodge in Fan Alley will feature appearances by HGTV, DIY Network, and Travel Channel stars, as well as autograph signings or performances by Country Music artists courtesy of GAC.

The Ultimate Air Dogs, a perennial fan favorite, will be back this year in Fan Alley entertaining attendees with their high-flying athletics. Hosted by former Detroit Tigers 1984 World Series pitcher Matt Wilcox, the Ultimate Air Dogs will compete Thursday through Sunday, June 7-10 at 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM.        

The BIC® Soleil Bella® Beach, located in Walk of Fame Park, is the place for sand, songs, and sunny surprises. Festival-goers can enjoy the music from the Soleil Bella Beach Stage while relaxing on the real sand beach. Outdoor lovers can also play a game of volleyball and cool off in a misting tent. Field & Stream will be taking over the eastern bank of the Cumberland River, south of the Shelby Street pedestrian bridge, with activities to interest the outdoorsman.

On Thursday, June 7, from 11:00AM–12:30PM, The Field & Stream Celebrity Total Outdoorsman Challenge will take place. Celebrities will show off their skills in shooting, fly fishing, and archery. Celebrities scheduled to participate include Ty Brown, Lucas Hoge, Julie Ingram, Matt Kennon, Zach Lockwood, Jason Sturgeon, Chick Wicks, Mark Wills, and Trent Wilmon.

On Friday and Saturday, June 8-9, from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM/CT, The Field & Stream Total Outdoorsman Reality Challenge qualifiers will take place.      

Play Ball
On Saturday, beginning at 9:00 AM, the City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge will take place at Greer Stadium (534 Chestnut Street). A separate ticket is required and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com. The Sixth Annual CMA Music Festival Fan Social Presented by CMT is a treasure hunter’s dream with prizes hidden throughout the CMA Music Festival downtown footprint. By following CMA, CMT, and Fan Social artists’ news feeds and tweets, fans gain access to clues which will lead them to redeemable prize vouchers as well as automatic entry to the event. This year’s CMA Fan Social presented by CMT will feature performances by Kix Brooks, Casey James, Aaron Lewis, Love and Theft, and Sunny Sweeney. Artists will also participate in Q&A sessions and autograph signings.

Getting Around
The popular “Catch a Chevy” program has returned to the 2012 CMA Music Festival. Festival attendees can flag down one of the specially wrapped 2012 Malibu Ecos for a free lift around the Festival footprint.

In addition to catching a Chevy, there is access to free shuttles at major CMA Music Festival event sites for all four-day ticket holders. Downtown shuttles run daily on a continuous loop. Handicapped-accessible shuttle buses are available with attendants to offer assistance.       

Parking
A limited amount of on-site pay parking will be available nightly at LP Field in Lots E & F, just across the Woodland Street Bridge. This parking option is available for purchase on-site on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the following information:

  • On-Site Pay Parking Fee is $15 per day/show, per vehicle (cash only)
  • Lot E open daily Thursday-Sunday at 8:00 AM.
  • Lot F open Thursday-Friday at 5:00 PM; Saturday-Sunday at 8:00 AM
  • Additional lots may become available on a nightly basis. Attendants will direct traffic to available lots.
  • All vehicles must be off LP Field grounds two hours after the nightly shows end. 
  • Overnight parking is not permitted.

Ample paid surface lots and parking garages are also available in downtown Nashville, conveniently accessible to LP Field via the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge.

Shopping
CMA Music Festival attendees can take home a little piece of the event with merchandise purchased at this year’s Festival.

The official CMA Music Festival product line will be available onsite through Music City Merchandise. Booths will be set up at the Fan Fair Hall, Chevrolet Riverfront Park, The Buckle, Fan Alley, LP Field, and the Bridgestone Arena. Merchandise is subject to availability.   • Bridgestone Arena Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM, Thursday through Friday from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM, and Saturday through Sunday from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM.
  • Chevrolet Riverfront Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM, Thursday from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM, Friday and Saturday from 8:30 AM until 6:00 PM, and Sunday from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM. 
  • BIC Soleil Bella Beach Thursday through Saturday from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. 
  • Fan Alley Thursday through Saturday from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
