Rising Country sensation Angie Johnson‘s famous viral YouTube video and most recently, her appearance on NBC’s “The Voice,” spiraled her into the spotlight and homes of an entire country- a country which she proudly served as a member of the United States Air Force. And just recently Johnson added a few more “firsts” to her already fruitful list of accolades.

On Friday, May 25th, Angie Johnson made her debut appearance on the revered Grand Ole Opry stage- a feat many new artists only dream about. Johnson performed “Coal Miner’s Daughter” and an autobiographical song about her own life, which she wrote, called “Outlaw Spirit.”

“Singing on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry was a dream come true for me! Everyone knows me as the contestant on ‘The Voice’ and they have only heard me sing Pop songs, but my heart lies in Country Music.  I’ve been living in Nashville for six years pursuing my dream,” says Johnson.

On Memorial Day, Monday, May 28th, Johnson appeared and performed “Outlaw Spirit” in the 2012 National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, DC. This year, the parade featured a tribute to the generation that served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. Following her appearance at the parade Angie headed to New York to perform at an event to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

This week she experiences CMA Music Festival for the first time! She was a part of the CMA Music Festival Kickoff Parade, sponsored by Chevy and sang the National Anthem to get the festiities going at the CMA block party in downtown Nashville! Friday morning Angie appeared on WZTV Fox 17’s Tennessee Mornings where she performed two original songs, “Outlaw Spirit” and “Runnin.”  Fans can also catch a LIVE performance from Angie at her debut at CMA Music Festival on the Bridgestone Stage Sunday afternoon at 3:30pm. This appearance is free and open to the public.
