The Band Perry and Big Machine Label Group CEO Scott Borchetta are “Grammy Greats” in new issue of the Hollywood Reporter. The GRAMMY-nominated trio and Borchetta are featured together among the 10 “dealmakers and game-changers” impacting the music industry right now.
In the new issue of The Hollywood Reporter, current GRAMMY-nominated Republic Nashville trio The Band Perry are featured alongside Big Machine Label Group (BMLG) CEO Scott Borchetta in a special music pictorial entitled “GRAMMY GREATS.”
Borchetta is the only Country music label executive included in the feature while The Band Perry is the only current GRAMMY “Best New Artist” nominee to appear.
The Hollywood Reporter issue states, “Everybody knows what’s wrong with music these days, but for this special portfolio, the staff decided to pay homage to what’s going right — the innovators, the slow burners, the multihyphenates and the visionaries who, hopefully, won’t screw it up for everyone else.”
Within the pictorial, The Band Perry explain why they chose to join the Republic Nashville label which is part of Borchetta’s BMLG. Kimberly Perry is quoted saying, “One night we were driving down Music Row after being in the studio… and the Big Machine lights were the only ones still on, with people working inside. That work ethic is huge because we like to think of ourselves as a blue-collar, hardworking country band.”
Borchetta is quoted within the piece stating that he and his staff look for talent and music that “people could fall in love with.”
Earlier this week it was announced that The Band Perry earned their second #1 single on the Billboard Country Radio Chart with their Gold-certified ballad “All Your Life.” Their debut album, THE BAND PERRY, has been certified Platinum. They will perform on the 54th Annual Grammy Awards this Sunday, Feb. 12 as they and Blake Shelton join music icon Glen Campbell.
Borchetta was also recently named as the highest ranking Country music label executive on the 2012 Billboard “Power 100” list.
