Since Montgomery Gentry’s latest album, Rebels On The Run debuted in the Top 10, the guys have been busy from coast to coast touring and supporting the album. Eddie and Troy stopped by RAM Country on Yahoo! Music to perform acoustic versions of tracks from the new cd and sat down to chat about the new album. Watch their performances and interview HERE. While in Los Angeles, they talked guitars, music, military and home in an interview with True Country TV, which can be seen here.
Fans and media on the CMA Awards Red Carpet last week noticed a change in Troy Gentry, and there’s a good reason behind it – a fitness regimen that has him hitting the gym at 6:30 a.m. every day he’s in town and eating right at every meal. ESPN.com‘s popular “Page 2” feature recently profiled both his healthy lifestyle and his new business venture. He is a partner in the new MPower Fitness in Franklin, Tennessee. The full feature can viewed here.
Eddie and Troy are also featured in the December 2011 issue of People Country Special magazine. Titled “We’re Thankful for Second Chances,” the article focuses on the changes the duo has endured over the past year with an emphasis on Eddie Montgomery’s prostate cancer and divorce and how the challenges have brought the life-long friends closer. Eddie tells People about finding the cancer by accident. He had taken his son to a bone specialist after a four-wheeler accident and mentioned a nagging pain in his hip. X-rays revealed a shadow, and the doctor immediately sent him to a prostate specialist. “I’m 100 percent cancer-free,” he told the magazine.
The guys left earlier this week for Country On The Beach 2011 (COTB III) at the Vallarta Palace Resort in beautiful Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The four-day extravaganza benefits the T.J. Martell Foundation. Next week, Eddie and Troy join “After Midnite” host Blair Garner for a Thanksgiving special which Premiere Networks is offering Country radio stations. The three-hour holiday special will feature the duo talking about what they’re most thankful for, the dangers of deep-frying turkey, and a candid conversation about spending Thanksgiving with the ex-in-laws.
A special “Golden Ticket” cd copy of Rebels On The Run, with which one lucky fan will win a specially-designed Demented Cycles custom chopper, is still circulating in the retail world. No purchase is necessary for a chance to win the prize, and official rules can be viewed here.
