With Toby Keith, it’s always something – a rollicking benefit for the legendary Bluebird Café, being named Forbes’ top-earning country musician, his blockbuster Locked & Loaded Tour Presented by Ford F-Series, rave reviews for restaurants or the meteoric launch of his new Wild Shot Mezcal. But there’s one bit of news that really stops fans in their tracks: music.
Toby Keith’s next studio album Clancy’s Tavern will be available in the U.S. and worldwide on Oct. 25. Already, the collection’s lead single “Made In America” has become one of the fastest rising songs in a long line of chart burners from Keith’s pen. The tune currently sits at No. 12 on the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart only five weeks after its release.
As for the album, it draws its name from the title track, which Keith wrote about his grandmother’s bar. Sure to be one of the most anticipated releases of the fall, Clancy’s Tavern will be under wraps until then, but here’s a sample of lyrics from the song:
She knows all their faces, she practically raised ’em
And that’s why they’re loyal and true
They’ll pay their tabs, and that pays the light bill
And she keeps their glass full of brew
(chorus) And the welders and the drivers
And the old nine to fivers and the regular Joe’s of the world
Are singing here’s to you Clancy in my neighborhood tavern
Pour me another my girl
