It was a horrific tragedy last night at the Indiana State Fair moments before Sugarland was to take the stage.  High winds picked up and an extreme storm came through causing the stage to collapse.  The National Weather Service estimate that winds were approximately 60 – 70 mph.  At this time 5 are confirmed dead and more than 40 injuries have been reported.  The Indianapolis Star reports that some injuries may still be life threatening while others will be life-altering.

Sugarland made a statement on their official website, We are all right after our stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair tonight. Many of our fans and friends in Indianapolis may not be. Please keep them in your thoughts, prayers, or whatever form of strength you are able to send. They need you. Thank you.

Jennifer Nettles made an official statement on behalf of the band saying they are “stunned and heartbroken for the fans and their families in Indiana. We hold those injured in our prayers at this very sad time. There are no words. It is tragic.”

Sugarland’s concert tonight has been CANCELLED at the Iowa State Fair.  For official news regarding Sugarland’s upcoming concert schedule, please visit their official website

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all that have been affected by the Indiana State Fair Tragedy.
