CountryMusicRocks Album Review: Blake Shelton ‘Red River Blue’

Blake Shelton is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated album, Red River Blue, available everywhere on Tuesday, July 12th.  Shelton once again delivers a top notch album with 11 tracks that country music fans will enjoy from start to finish.  

Red River Blue already houses a platinum digital single with his sweet infectious hit “Honey Bee” that has been stuck at #1 for the past 4 consecutive weeks.  Shelton’s personality radiates on songs such as “Get Some” & “Hey” while “Ready To Roll” highlights the country soul in his voice.  “God Gave Me You” is a standout track on Red River Blue which was previously written & recorded by Dave Barnes.  The song holds personal meaning to Shelton and he presents the song beautifully with strong emotion and passion.  “I’m Sorry” features Martina McBride and the song showcases two amazing voices that collide into an amazing powerhouse ballad.  Album title track “Red River Blue” is a soft song about a broken heart filled with grief & sorrow with lines such as “I’d walk through fire if that bridge hadn’t burned in two” and “Tears in my eyes, she said goodbye and now I’m red river blue”The song includes vocals from wife Miranda Lambert and the blend of their voices is captivating in this song.  

Blake Shelton is leaving an evident mark on country music with Red River Blue as the album holds emotion, passion & character that listeners will tightly embrace.
