The contest was inspired by the lyrics found in Bower’s new single, “I Still Believe In That,” (Our heroes and our idols were homegrown/ Didn’t find them on no TV show/
They were our teachers and our preachers/ Our soldier’s, moms and dads / I still believe in that.) To enter, fans will need to nominate their local hero by submitting a short essay (150 words or less) explaining what makes them a homegrown hero. They can do this on Ash Bower’s Facebook page. The prize winning-hero will receive a $5,000 cash prize. *
