During ACM weekend, Republic Nashville hosted a celebration for The Band Perry, whose self-titled debut album was certified Gold by the RIAA in February 2011 after just four months in the marketplace. The album features their fastest-climbing, current single, “You Lie,” along with the Grammy-nominated, Platinum-certified #1 hit, “If I Die Young” and their first Top 20 single, “Hip To My Heart.”
The band is currently nominated for four ACM Awards, including New Artist of the Year, which is also determined by fans (voting ends at the start of tomorrow’s broadcast of the ACM Awards live on CBS). TBP has already won an early ACM Award for New Group of the Year, as determined by fan votes.
“I can’t say I’m surprised by the initial success of The Band Perry. They are an amazing group and have quickly proven to be a force to be reckoned with. Country Radio and music fans alike have taken right to them the same way that myself, Jimmy and the label group did. This is big fun and their careers are pointing straight up. I believe this will be the first of many wonderful awards for them.” (SCOTT BORCHETTA – PRESIDENT & CEO, BIG MACHINE LABEL GROUP)
“Having a Gold record is a tremendous accomplishment and to achieve it in just under four months is even more amazing! Scott and I would like to send out a big congratulations to Kimberly, Neil, Reid, Bob Doyle and Associates along with the entire Big Machine Label Group for a job well done. On top of that, celebrating this accolade here in Las Vegas on the eve of The Band Perry’s four ACM nominations for New Artist of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “If I Die Young” makes it all the more special.” (JIMMY HARNEN – PRESIDENT, REPUBLIC NASHVILLE)
“Seeing The Band Perry perform and hearing the caliber of their work, it’s easy to understand how this family has connected with such a large audience in such a short time. But milestones like this don’t come easy. Scott Borchetta, along with Jimmy Harnen’s entire Republic Nashville staff, have worked overtime with us towards the same goal. They’ve dedicated tireless passion and considerable expertise and we owe them special thanks as we celebrate this shared victory.” (BOB DOYLE – BOB DOYLE & ASSOCIATES – MANAGEMENT FOR THE BAND PERRY)
“When we got the news in February that our album had gone Gold, we went from shock to excitement to flat-out gratitude in about 60 seconds. Waiting until ACM weekend to celebrate means being able to personally thank so many of you who have believed in us all along. You have helped us connect with Country music fans. You have worked long hours on our behalf. You share the same passion for Country music that we do. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you and promise to keep working hard to deserve all that you’ve helped us achieve.” (THE BAND PERRY – KIMBERLY, NEIL, REID PERRY)
