Justin Moore has put the finishing touches on his upcoming album, which he tells Country Weekly will be named Outlaws Like Me, after a song on the disc. He says the title track is probably his favorite song he’s ever written.
“The song and that title sum up where I am in my life,” explains Justin. “The song is about the battle that everyone has between good and evil. You want to do the right thing and you know it’s what you should do, but sometimes it’s harder than you can even explain. I’m very excited about it.”
The Arkansas native thought he was finished with the album a few months ago, but discovered he wanted to record a couple more songs for the project. “We play a lot of songs in our show and have all year that didn’t even make my first album, but have virally become hits, if you will,” Justin says. “One night late on the year, I said, Man, this song, a song called “Redneck Side,” that has to be on the record. And I’ve been playing it for years, and people know every word and it wasn’t even on my first album. I said, I’ve got to go back to the label and see if I can cut a few more songs.”
Justin will definitely play his current hit “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away” – the first release from his forthcoming album – when he joins Rascal Flatts on their upcoming Flatts Fest summer outing beginning June 18th in Bristow, Va.
