David Nail’s video for the debut song “Let It Rain” from his forthcoming sophomore album will make its world premiere on VEVO today, Thursday, April 16. The dramatic video, co-directed by David Nail and Stephen Shepherd, captures the pain of a man who realizes that a passionate indiscretion has probably cost him his marriage.
“I had just seen the movie The Last Kiss, and it was a pretty powerful ending,” said Nail of his inspiration in writing the song. “I just tried to paint the picture of what that guy seemed to be feeling, when he realized the significance of what he had just done!”
“With the video, I tried to recreate the rawness and reality of that moment,” he continued. “I wanted to grab people’s attention immediately, and I feel like Stephen and I accomplished that. I can’t wait for the fans to see it because I think they will see this video is different than the past ones I’ve done.”
“Let It Rain,” co-written by Nail and Jonathan Singleton, is currently climbing the country singles charts.
