Frankie Ballard To Open For Musical Legend Bob Seger

Warner Bros. Records’ guitar slinging newcomer Frankie Ballard, is living up to the title as ‘One to Watch in 2011.’ Next week fans will have the opportunity to catch him live as he opens for musical legend Bob Seger. The hot country newcomer will open for Seger March 29 – April 2 at his sold-out Saginaw, MI and Toledo, OH shows as well as Ballard’s hometown stomping grounds of Grand Rapids, MI. Ballard recently announced that he will join superstar Taylor Swift on select dates of her upcoming North American leg of the “Speak Now World Tour 2011.”

“Growing up in Michigan, Bob Seger was as good as Governor!” said Frankie in response to the tour announcement. “To open for such an amazing Rock ‘n’ Roll legend is a dream come true. His music is an American treasure. I’m just gonna try and keep up!”

Hailing from Battle Creek, Michigan, Ballard brings a fresh new sound with his unique blend of edgy, country rock and sheer, fleet-fingered guitar skills. Ballard’s romping new single “A Buncha Girls” (co-written by Ballard, Rhett Akins, Dallas Davidson and Ben Hayslip) is available now at all digital retailers and will be featured on his forthcoming debut album. Ballard broke through the country music charts with his hit debut single, “Tell Me You Get Lonely” and his debut music video was Top 5 on GAC’s fan-voted Top 20 Country Countdown. In 2008, Ballard won Kenny Chesney’s “Next Big Star” regional competition and opened for Chesney at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids and Ford Field in Detroit.
