The Band Perry’s Debut Album Certified Gold

The Band Perry’s debut album, The Band Perry, on Republic Nashville has achieved Gold certification from the RIAA for sales exceeding 500,000. Released in October 2010, the album and continues to hold steady at #7 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and #37 on the overall Billboard Top 200.

“Having a Gold record is a tremendous accomplishment and to achieve that status in just under four months is even more amazing,” said Nashville Republic President, Jimmy Harnen. “This award is yet another wonderful accolade in a spectacular year for The Band Perry.”
The trio’s break-through continues as their third single, “You Lie,” is now their fastest chart-climber to date. Already Top 25 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart, the new video is expected to premiere at the end of February (details to be announced soon). Fans can expect a new range of emotions from the family band – “You Lie” is a Country anthem of a woman scorned, and in this case, the cheater in question isn’t just answering to Kimberly but to brothers Reid and Neil as well.
Previously, The Band Perry charted a Top 20 single with “Hip To My Heart,” which was accompanied by an energetic video that introduced the band to Country fans. They followed up with the reserved and reflective video for their #1 hit, “If I Die Young,” which touched fans deeply and has been viewed 17 million times on You Tube.
