Joe Nichols’ new music video for his hit song “The Shape I’m In” premiered last week on CMT and by week’s end was the most watched video on CMT.com. Additionally, Joe closed the week as the .com’s #2 artist of the week, which tabulates not only videos, but all artist content viewed on the site.
The music video for “The Shape I’m In” got high praise from viewers because of its theme and inspiring tone. Nichols and director Trey Fanjoy decided to take things in a different direction than a typical music video, and used the opportunity to praise America’s servicemen and women, particularly highlighting those who have returned from combat with injuries, but who overcome obstacles and live their lives to the fullest.
The video features a special message from former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, author of the best selling book Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10, as well as appearances by Captain Chad Fleming (retired) and Captain Ivan Castro. The video was made in partnership with the Lone Survivor Foundation and The Boot Campaign.
“The Shape I’m In” is Nichols’ current Top 20 and climbing hit and is included on his first ever Greatest Hits release, in stores now. The CD features a total of four #1 hits and six Top 10’s, including Nichols’ three week #1 hit “Gimmie That Girl,” which was the second most played song of 2010.
