Jimmy Wayne’s project Meet Me Halfway and his 1700 mile walk from Nashville to Phoenix in 2010 inspired people across the country, as well as his own home state. During December, employees with the Tennessee State Treasury Department adopted Meet Me Halfway as their charitable project, and raised more than $2000 from employee donations. Wayne was on hand at the State Capitol last week to gratefully accept the donation for Meet Me Halfway.
Wayne began Project Meet Me Halfway in 2010 to raise awareness of the problems faced by children in the foster care system, particularly those who age out at 18 and without any support system, often find themselves homeless.
