Josh Thompson Chosen As One Of The 2011 Country Radio Seminar New Faces Performer

Josh Thompson has been chosen as a performer for the 2011 CRS New Faces of Country Music show, held annually during Country Radio Seminar (CRS) in Nashville. Each year, the New Faces event showcases five artists on the rise who have achieved significant success at Country radio. This year’s performers were selected by employees of commercial, full-time Country radio stations. The show will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Nashville Convention Center.

The CRS New Faces show has featured newcomers that have gone on to achieve major success in Country music, such as Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban, Sugarland, and more. The show takes place in front of major radio program directors, music directors and other notable industry guests, many of whom consider the CRS New Faces show to be a preview of Country music’s next big stars.

Upon hearing the news, Thompson was thrilled. “I used to go to CRS and sneak into the shows because that was someplace I had hoped to be one day, and here it is! I’m pretty pumped about it. But even more important to me is that it is a line-up voted on by Country radio,” he says. “I have made a lot of great friends in radio over the last 2 years and I’m honored that they would cast a vote in my direction. I can’t wait to play!”

Josh is keeping things new at radio as well, with his current single “Won’t Be Lonely Long,” a hell-raising drinking song about how being dumped can turn into a great Friday night. The new single follows his Top 15 “Way Out Here,” and his Top 20 debut single, “Beer On The Table,” all from his album Way Out Here
