Darius Rucker released his sophomore country album, Charleston, S.C. 1966, on October 12, 2010.  The album debuted at the top of the Billboard Country Albums Chart at #1 with over 100,000 album sold in the first week.  Yesterday, Rucker received the news that the first single from that album, “Come Back Song,” had also reached the #1 spot on the Billboard and Mediabase Country Singles Charts, marking his fourth #1 country chart-topper since his release of Learn To Live in 2008.
Upon hearing the news, Rucker remarked, “This is a very important moment for me because all I’ve ever wanted is to be accepted into this format and, with this release, I finally feel like I am.”
Charleston, SC 1966 continues to receive praise with The News York Times raving, “he hits all his marks” and PEOPLE Magazine saying, “Rucker proves that 2008’s Learn To Live was no fluke.  He can leave Hootie behind him now.”
