As you many of you already know,
Taylor Swift has an affinity for the number 13. For the 20-year-old superstar, that number, which she paints on her hand before every show, represents good things and has credited it with many of her successes over the past few years.
“It pops up, and I can’t control it,” states Taylor. “It’s always there when things, like good things, are happening. It’s a good omen, I guess.”
Not only was she born on December, the 13th, but she turned 13 on Friday, the 13th; her first album went gold in 13 weeks, while her first number-one song had a 13-second intro. She has also currently sold more than 13-million albums (a number that is sure to change once she releases her new album, SPEAK NOW, on October 25th).
Lately, it’s been popping up again. She handpicked the leading man, Toby Hemingway, for her “Mine” music video because she saw a movie he was in where he was wearing a shirt that had her lucky number on it. And she recently went to go buy a coffee maker and tweeted, “Saw another 13. Took it as a sign that I purchased the right coffee maker.”
